Musty Taco Beds
Beds were awful - deep sink holes in the center. Entire place smelled like carpet fresh - OVERWHELMING and they applied it again every day that we were there (5 days of funk). Made us wonder what they were trying to cover up. We could see our hands through the towels. No toiletries in the room though they did have a sign that said you could go down to the desk and get some. Burned out bulbs in the lamps, TV from the 70s. Basic cable only. Sad, sad, sad.
Boulders beautiful - home to us.

A shell of its former glory
Upon arrival, we were quite impressed. The lobby gives the appearance of poshness from a former era. The rooms were nothing special though, and our rooms coat hanger was hanging off the wall (we got moved). Between the two rooms, there were a couple of non-working lamps and a non-working telephone. We ventured into the lounge, and walked past some really nice fish tanks, the purpose of which is clearly to obscure a lot of unused space. Also advertised was a year-round hot tub. I packed my bathing suit, so we checked it out: a dilapidated pool area otherwise drained for the season. The tub was working, so I turned the bubbles timer, but no effect. We did not suit up. Finally the continental breakfast plus hot items: make your own sausage mcmuffin was nice the first day. Not quite as great the second day, and by the third day, well, fortunately thats the day we left. Overall, for the expedia price we paid, it was a slight improvement over the standard prices of the usual budget hotels.

Cheap and Cheerful
Hotel is badly in need of a remodel. The fixtures and furniture scream 1968! The room was clean and bathroom was large. Very comfortable bed and extra pillows and blanket which I really appreciated. Could never get the temp correct old style A/C. I dont think the restaurant menu has been updated since the 80s. The food sucked. One meal was enough. I closed my eyes to try to savor the flavors it had none I couldnt even tell what I was eating Ive had better for in a hospital. Front desk was attentive.
Traveler's tip on dining
Suki is a thai restaurant about 100 yards away good food and reasonable. Also the liquor store sells snacks as no vending in the hotel only soda machines.
