Ahhh...Las Brisas...

This has got to be one of the most private and relaxing places on the planet while also being one of the most reasonably priced values. This was the third time my wife and I have stayed here. We haven’t been in a few years and both now wonder why. We have always selected the shared casitas but have never actually had to share the pool as Las Brisas tends to spread people out for more privacy. I splurged this time on the private casita because I didn’t want to risk having to share the pool. It was worth the small amount of extra money. The staff is incredible with many of the same faces having worked there for +15 years. The views are second to none. They started allowing children in about two years ago. Not a huge deal for adults and an obvious benefit if you want to take the kids. If you are looking for more romance and privacy, stay higher on the high in a private casita. This hotel never seems to be completely full however. In my three stays I have never had another guest closer than at least one casita away. The only negative is that there is nothing cheap to eat up on the hill. The taxis down run from $7US to $20 depending on how far you want to go. More in the tips below. As always...I can’t wait to go back!!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Acapulco is predominantly a Mexican vacation hot spot due to it’s proximity to Mexico City. This is one of the things we actually like about it. Once you get down from the hill you can stop and walk, take the cheaper taxis, or the buses. The buses are easy and extremely cheap at like $.60 for the whole length of the AC coast front. The yellow buses have AC and are supposed to have fewer stops. The yellow and white taxis are shared and can get you back to LB for about $3.

Nice view of the bay... but hotel is for couples not for families

Nice view of the Acapulco bay... but hotel is for couples not for families. Not easy to go from your room to other places (e.g., restaurant). La concha beach club is great, but the limited hours (10 am to 6 pm) is not good.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Visit this hotel if you are a couple without children.
