Only have to pay the parking, but still, for the quality, the price is unbeatable.

Room was clean, quiert, staff was courteous, responsive, food service was excellent. Overasll stay was worht it and I would return.

Be prepared to follow a slightly round about route to get to the hotel which is hidden in plain sight!!

Very Satisfied

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the sports bar and their staff and the food was awesome! HUGE portions! The road system in Newark is horrible which made it hard to get to and from, but that’s our only complaint which has nothing to do with the hotel directly. Our room was clean and the shuttle service was something everyone should take advantage of to get into the city.

Great Hotel, for what I needed it for

Hi: The Hotel was great, however, I was a little surprised at the $12.00 parking fee, which I received when I was leaving the next day. I was not aware of it till then.

Not Impressed

the hotel maintenance dept need to pay attention to the cleanliness of the front entrance of hotel. left with a bad impression!

worst maintenance service

Two days at hotel room with just one light working fine. I made a complaint two time at front desk without results. There were three lights in the room, just the light close to the window turns on and off. Others 2 were out of order.

no refrigerators-no exceptions

I have never stayed in a hotel that did not have refrigerators at least for medical purposes. I am a diabetic (insulin needs to be refrigerated) and I was traveling with my infant (milk!) to a convention at this hotel, so even though they told me they did not have refrigerators, or convience stores any where nearby to buy essencials, I still stayed there. I brought a cooler and filled it with from their ice machines. That was until the cleaning staff accidentally thought we had checked out already and threw my cooler and its contents away. To say the least I have had easier experiences at less expensive hotels.

It is a nice hotel close to the airport.

EVerything is OK here. Very convenient to the airport. There is free internet in room. The only thing I must say is the parking cost 15 dollar per night. I will go back in the future if possible.

Great value for money with good access to to New York and Newark airport.

You get what you pay for. Obvious cost cutting on rooms and services but perfectly adaquete for a few day stay. As airport hotels go, not bad!!

Disapointed

Room wasn’t clean. Bathroom floor was flooded! Waited 40 minutes for the airport transfer in the morning. There are no schedule times

Long waits for shuttle

Just like others on here - Shuttle takes a long time. The Sheraton right next door gets three shuttles in to every one holiday inn. The last night we were there we waited 45 minutes before getting on the Sheraton. Found out that everyone else did the same so the Sheraton shuttle driver drove up to the holiday inn and dropped us off. Thanks Sheraton!

Will stay at NY next time - took too long to get into the city. Normally took 2.5 hours each way.

Teddy’s Bar and Grill is teh only reason to go!!

The front desk is not friendly at all but the guys in the bar are fantastic and the patrons seem to come from the other hotels for the service. Food is good and met lots of great people in the bar! Hotel is cheap and super convenient for NYC trips and transportation. I will be returning.

Surprisingly Unsatisfied

I was unaware that there was a parking rate and that I had to pay a daily fee to park my car in their parking lot even though I was already a guest. The phone in my room wasn’t working properly and I wasn’t able to answer my calls. The front desk personel was very rude and hung up the phone in the middle of our conversation.

This is not the best place to take your family. The location is hard to find and there isn’t a swimming pool or game room.

Low price, close to airport, free shuttle, friendly bar-keep

Nice just to have a hotel near the airport when getting in late. But when the bartender at the lounge greets you and introduces you to a couple other guys at the bar, you know you are at a good place. Breakfast is not included, and their restaurant is a little more than I’d want to pay, but considering the overall cost to stay there, it’s okay with me.

Beds of rock

The beds were hard as rocks. The staff was rude and seemed as if they did not care at all. Over all a pretty bad night at the Holiday Inn.

Will definitely Stay Again

I loved the hotel. The little kias that offered 24 hour service of coffee, danishes, water, food etc was a plus. Teddy’s bar and grille had great food and an a fun/pleasant atmosphere. Shuttle runs to and from the airport every 20 minutes for traveling convenience. I would definitely stay there again.

It’s an Okay Hotel

The hotel wasn’t too bad at all. It’s not the best but not the worst either. Location is good being close to Newark Airport.

Very nice Hotel

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, but, the room that I was in had a street lamp very close to my window. I pulled both sets of blinds, but the light was still more than I could sleep through. I had to pile the comforter on the other side of the bed to block out the glare.

The restaurant built into the Hotel has excellent food, but the prices are a little steep.

Impressed

The hotel staff, shuttle staff, and deli staff was very friendly. The front desk staff answered alot of questions for me and my family even though they were extremely busy. Gave us several different ways we could travel to nyc. Only took 15 minutes for shuttle to arrive to the airport when we called. We arrived to the hotel at 9am expecting to pay $20 storage fee for our luggage, instead they let us check in. Everything was great for the price.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

When visiting the statue of Liberty I found the wait for tickets just too much, the statue is definitely best seen from the boat, so taking the free ferry is worth a try - just as good, no wait & free.

Recommend Staying - HI Newark

Stayed for 4 nights as close to airport, train and New York without paying New York prices! Using Hotel Shuttle, the 82 bus from EWR and PATH train you’re into NYC within 40mins for $4.00 ea. Airport shuttle was free and on demand! Has 24 hour cafe and shop. Good vibe in the bar. Room service a bit pricey but very large portions. Has a cheap self service laundry so you don’t need to pack evrything and the kitchen sink! Rooms are cleaned daily however windows need a clean. The guest services guide in our room needs completing and spell-checked. Recommend and will stay again

be careful of the room location if you need internet in room

I was given a room at the far end of the building and the wireless signal there totally sucked. I’d not complain if this was not my business trip but unfortunately i needed a connection in room. The front desk first had me talk with some maintenance guy over the phone for half an hour but everyone of us knew the room is too far from the nearest router and there is no way to fix that except for changing a room. How simple is that because I just walked in the room? The front desk (male) simply turned down my request by telling me all rooms are booked. What is that? The front desk there is a total shame to the holiday inn brand.

There are $15 for overnight parking, per day. Take that into account when the cost is one of your considerations.
