The wife and I came to this hotel because our granddaughter was in the wqrld series of fast pitch softball. After watching ball all day we were quiet exhausted. what a lovely relaxing place to stay. thank you

Just a Little More Attention to Details
I had a wonderful time staying at the Radisson. For starters, the waterfall pool area and lobby were just as gorgeous as I expected from the photos on this site. The star cafe was a super cute spot for breakfast. And the omelets were tasty. My room was very easy to get to from the parking lot & was close to a stairwell (I actually enjoy stairs!) Also I somehow lucked out with a nice view of the outdoor patio & pool area. The downside :( I guess some kind of girls soccer competition was going on and our room was right next door! It made me a little wary of our weekend stay when the hallway was crowded w/ 12-year-old girls at 10:30pm the night I arrived. I was also disappointed to find kids in the pool during the hour of "Adult" swim, and also playing in & making of mess of the hot tubs. Although I understand it was a holiday weekend, the staff needed to pay special attention to cleaning up the public areas of the hotel. I will probably go back, but maybe not when they’re so busy.

There was a very nice mini-golf, go-cart, & batting cage place less than a 15 minute drive away. Also a drive-in theater less than 30 minutes away.

Would stop here again.
This hotel fit our needs very well. We needed a location with on site dining offering parking for trucks with trailers, near to Chicago. The TJ Maloney’s dining room was nice and the food was great. We wish we had brought our swimsuits to have enjoyed the beautiful indoor pool, with waterfall located in the reception area. Very friendly staff. We would stay here again.

Beautiful place
Hadn’t been to this hotel in approx. 6 years. Newly remodeled with very nice decor. Staff very friendly. Our son loved the game room!!!!Nice to try out Sleep Number beds. Can’t wait to go back.

I Won’t Ever Stay There Again
Very disappointing stay. We were told one day that they wouldn’t make up the bed because we arrived at 1:30 am and so had not slept a whole night in it. Didn’t make sense. We had a midnight false fire alarm, blasting us awake and telling everyone to get out of the building. It was 16 degrees F outside with snow and ice conditions. We had to ask the front desk if the alarm was real since no further announcement was made. That was unbelievable. Overall, the staff is poorly trained and they don’t seem to know much. Be happy and stay at another hotel or motel.

Pricey
The Radisson is overpriced for the quality of the rooms. You are definitly paying for the location since it is connected to the Starr Plaza.

Examine your bills carefully!
The hotel itself was very nice. Great amenities. Conveniently located next to the Star Plaza Theatre. Good restaurants and bars and generally good service. And a short drive to downtown Chicago. And much in-line with other Radisson hotels I’ve stay at in other cities. However, I stayed there on this trip for two nights, both paid in full via Expedia, and upon checkout, the bill they gave me to sign had one night charged to my credit card, even though it had been fully paid already. Fortunately I had my Expedia receipt and they then refunded the extra night charge. And at that point, I thought everything was taken care of. Then I got my credit card bill in the mail! On my credit card bill, in addition to their initial over-charge and refunding of the over-charge. They had an additional charge for what appeared to be both nights!! After failing to get it resolved through them and their "customer service" numbers, I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. Finally, after 3 months of them trying to figure it out, it’s finally resolved and credited back to my account, thanks to the good work done by my credit card company. So in conclusion: it’s a good place to stay, especially if you’re there to go to a show or two at the theater, but be sure to check both your bill and your credit card statements carefully!
