stay in Newark
went in the tunnel in the evening and tons of hockey fans were walking by. the blue devils play one block away at their arena

Am coming back
Great hotel, conveniant accross from Newark Penn Station takes less then 20 min in the train to world trade. Great places for a quick bite before you head to nyc.The staff are very friendly and professional. I had no issues with the room and am coming back.

expensive stay
super expensive food and drinks in the hotel. good thing penn station and the stuff in downtown is so close. Plus the food at the grill place is bad, don’t go there (it’s only good for drinks).
Traveler's tip on dining
Don’t eat at the Grill place downstairs. Go to Thai place by Rutgers, Cuban place on broad st by the park, or go to a good old grease truck by the universities and you’ll get much better food for much less (emphasis on better)
