People make the difference .....
We’ve travel a lot and found that one hotel can be pretty much like another, especially now with the chains. As long as they are properly maintained and clean, you don’t really take that much notice. So, what makes the difference???? It’s the staff. In Dubuque, the hotel iself was fine ... well maintained and clean. What was impressive was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful and courteous. The breakfast was a very busy area but the staff was right there keeping everything well stocked and as convenient for everyone as possible.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The city of Dubuque was an unexpected surprise. It is a beautiful, quaint city. We happened there on Riverfest weekend .... so much to see and do. And again, we found very friendly people everywhere we wandered. Even without Riverfest, Dubuque would be a great place for a weekend adventure.

Comfortable and economical
Located in Dubuque, IA and about 15 miles from Galena, IL, this hotel presents a relatively economical alternative to the expensive accommodation in Galena, if that is your destination. Furthermore, there are some attractions in and around Dubuque as well. Complimentary continental breakfast (bagels, toast, fresh waffles, boiled eggs, fruit, etc.) is included, so you don’t have to spend time and money on breakfast elsewhere during your stay. Rooms are comfortable and clean and the indoor heated pool is great for kids all year long.
