Nice for short stay
Small, clean hotel in quiet St. Maxime. A short ferry ride across the bay from St. Tropez. Friendly staff, no elevator, just a few yards up the hill and from the pleasant downtown of St. Maxime with its expensive stores, friendly bars and happy people. The hotel has a small restuarant/bar and staff that tries hard to please. The rooms are small (bathroom very small) but clean and everything works and some rooms have a view over the lovely harbor.

A good option
I booked at the Les Palmieres in St Maxime becauser I was unable to find a reasonable room available at the last minute in St Tropez. The hotel is very well located close to restaurants and shopping in St Maxime and it is a quick ferry ride across the harbor to St Tropez. It worked out perfectly. The staff is lovely and the hotel is charming, just not the most up to date or comfortable. But really convenient and a pleasant stay. The big joke for me was the no smoking sign that was on a table in my room sitting in the ashtray. I got a good laugh. And just to put your mind at ease the room did not smell of smoke at all.
