Avoid at all costs
This hotel was very close to the conference I had to attend But it took 30 mins to find the place with a GPS, due to lack of proper signs & 1 way streets. I was really shocked to see the state of the room. It was really run down, with - - no AC or fan - mildew on the bathroom walls Since the tram runs just outside this hotel, keeping the window open was a very noisy option I’ve never come across even motel as bad as this. Not sure how they got the 3 star rating.

Loved the hotel!!!!!
Loved the hotel, very charming, more like a loft than a hotel. Our room was small but decorated very comfy and cozy, so no complaints there! :) The bathroom was cute and comfortable, wasn’t a traditional hotel bathroom so it felt a little more like home. Only complaint is the small shower and low water pressure, but only a four-day stay so it was manageable. The best location you can ask for if you want to stay in Union Square!!! Just a cable car ride away from The Wharf, Chinatown and Italian Town (I think that’s what it’s called). Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again!

BED BUGS
I was extremely disappointed with the Powell Hotel. It has a great location, and they offer free beer\wine and snacks durin ghappy hour, but the condition of the hotel is terrible. My room was flooded when I checked in. Carpet was bed, and so was the mattress, and they were oblivious about it. The final straw was when my colleague found bed bugs. We checked out early. I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.
