Primo Hotel in Fiumicino!
We had the pleasure of staying at La Maison Jolie for three nights before departing from Rome. Having chosen the hotel for its good reviews and proximity to the DaVinci airport, we enjoyed the clean, spacious room, the quiet residential location, the abundant breakfast buffet, and the very helpful staff. By day two we were getting to downtown Rome not by hotel shuttle but by public transportation; since we were not first-time tourists here, staying close to the attractions was not a major issue. A walk-to restaurant "La Pecora Nera" satiated us with locally-produced prosciuttos, cheeses, and wines and freshly-made gnocchi, a meal to be savored and remembered!

The best Alternative
We decided to try a small hotel that was near the airport instead of staying at the very over priced large chain hotel that is attached to the airport. Well, what a breath of fresh air it was indeed and we saved a bundle of money. The staff was great and it was very near some great resturants for our evening meal. You will not be disappointed!!!!!

Residence La Maison Jolie
We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions before and after a cruise. We really enjoyed this hotel. It is a little difficult for taxis to find, but it is very close to the Rome airport (4 Km). The close proximity is a real asset. We took a local shuttle into Rome which was easy to use. Breakfast was provided. Rooms were very large. I would recommend this hotel as a good choice.
