Outrigger Regency on Beach Walk

Great deal for a family!

Just got back from a one week stay at this hotel and would definitely plan of returning in the future! Great location just minutes from the beach and in an area not overly busy. The rooms are amazing and include a full kitchen (minus a full oven) which makes it an easy place to grab quick meals without paying the overpriced rates you find at most Waikiki restaurants. The rooms are also quite large compared to many other hotels I have stayed in. Of note, the front desk staff was amazing and super friendly, willing to help out and always greeting with a smile to make you feel welcome. However, most of the other staff (cleaning/maintenance) seemed to walk around in a bit of a mood and seemed inconvenienced if you asked them for something. The only other small complaint I would have is the cooling unit for the room. The main AC is located in the living room, but there is nothing in the bedroom (although it is only separated by a sliding wall) so anyone sleeping in the living room has to freeze if the people in the bedroom want to stay cool. An extra fan to help blow the cool air in to the room. Anyway, other than that everything was great and would definitely stay there again during my next trip to Honolulu!

Very impressed!

Very spacious and clean suite. The staff was very helpful. Much more than I expected for the price. The location was great too. Many restaurants close by. I am planning my next visit with friends and this is where we will stay. I would feel very comfortable not renting a car staying at this hotel and taking tours. Sits on a quiet side street, a little less than a block from the beach. I was relieved that I didn’t have to hike through downtown Waikiki in a swimsuit. The use of Outrigger Reef’s facilities was a real plus too.

There are many restaurant choices in the area and some can be quite pricey. The Shore Bird restaurant, which is one of Outrigger Reef’s two ocean front restaurants, has a breakfast and then a lunch buffett that I highly recommend. Great choices, reasonably priced, and wonderful views. Good place to take kids.

Great condo just off the beach!

We were traveling with our two teenagers, so wanted a condo type place with a kitchen, and the Outrigger Regency was fabulous! The decor is elegantly Asian themed, the full kitchen avoided many meals eating out, and the large balcony had a great view of the sunset. No pool, but the sister Outrigger hotel is a half block away and the Pacific ocean only yards further. Would stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

"ABC Stores" and other Hawaian chain multipurpose stores pop up every half block throughout Waikiki. They all have some "special deal" offer of saving up your receipts or getting a card stamped after purchases to earn points to redeem for gifts at the end of your vacation. DO IT! You’ll be shocked at how much you’ll spend at the ABC stores for sodas and incidentals and redeeming those receipts for a calendar or macadamian chocolate is very satisfying!
