What a pleasant surprise!
We were so happy when we got to the hotel - we had been to several other locations in Europe before we got to Florence and had experience some really bad 4-star hotels. This hotel is beautiful and it is in a great location - very close to the square. It is a very safe and clean area - we felt perfectly safe walking around at night. The room was beautiful and very large for European standards, with a very comfortable (also hard to find in Europe) king-sized bed and a nice, large, very modern bathroom. It was by far the best hotel of our entire trip! We will definitely go back. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We booked a tuscan wine-tasting tour through the hotel that we really enjoyed. It included wine tasting and tour at an old castle, time in some medieval villages, and a traditional Italian dinner with wine at a very old castle/manor. It was nice and we got to see a lot of the tuscan country-side without having to drive. We also enjoyed the gardens of the palace - there is a great view from the terrace rose garden near the gallery (top of the hill).

Beautiful and the Best View
We stayed for only two nights, but I wish I had stayed longer. The location is great, in front of a Piazza and next to the river..We had a suite with view to the river with a balcony which I loved. This was my first time in Florence and walked from the train station to the hotel, just a 10 min. walk which gave us time to look at the city..I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I ever go back..
