Under foreclosure
We didn’t find out until we arrived that the hotel is under renovations and in the process of being sold or in foreclosure. The rooms did not have the usual Tip sheet of really important info and the breakfast left much to be desired. On the positive -the room was clean, the pool was enjoyable and the staff was accommodating.

Not impressed
This hotel is bit dated. The Hotel room was clean but it seems to be understaffed for the number of rooms it houses and the continental breakfast (although included in the cost of the room) left much to be desired. Seating in the dining area was limited although there was plenty of space (only a few tables were made available). The workout area is laughable (your home gym more than likely offers more workout options). On a more positive note, the staff was very courteous and they get a B+ for effort, but the place just seems to be severely under staffed.

Clean, but older
This hotel was very convenient for our trip to Carowinds. It is an older hotel and needs updating. It was clean and the beds were comfortable---good enough for our one night stay. Definitely not three stars. If looking for a hotel near Carowinds, there is a nice Holiday Inn Express next door that looked a bit better.
