Very Nice Hotel
My family stayed one evening at the Courtyard while in Kansas City for a short visit. The hotel lobby/common area has been recently redone and its very nice. The room was quiet, comfortable and very clean. Parking was very convenient. My only complaints are minor issues. First, the heating/AC unit is now controlled by a thermostat on the wall (this is becoming quite common in many hotels now). The problem is that its operation seems to defy common sense. You can turn it on, select fan on/off, and you can make the temp reading go up or down. But after setting the thermostat before going to bed (or at least I thought I did), I had to get up in the middle of the night and turn it on again because it was getting very warm. How about a little note in the hotel information book or on the wall on how to actually set the thermostat? Annoying but not a problem with this particular hotel. Finally, with the new "restaurant" feel to the lobby, is the breakfast complimentary or do you pay? We got up late and still full from an excellent dinner in the Country Club Plaza the night before, so breakfast wasn’t on our list of things to do, but I frankly couldn’t tell whether I could just help myself or have to pay. Nothing in the room info or on the web gives me a clue. It looked like a very nice breakfast, but it would be nice to know if I need to pay extra for it.

Worth a repeat visit...
Service at this Courtyard is ALWAYS excellent. It is a pleasure to visit---which I do annually. Clean, competent. Newspapers available. Breakfast buffet recommended.
