Best location and very reasonable!

The hotel’s location was truly perfect for a stay in Auckland, being walking distance from the cruise terminal and also adjacent to a major bus terminal. The hotel’s lobby is apparently undergoing renovation, but I wasn’t affected in my room at all. I really enjoyed the bay window (which opened) overlooking town. An excellent value.

Great Location for being a Tourist

For my first time in Auckland, this hotel turned out to be ideal. It was close to the harbor, which made it easy to walk over there. Visiting the Maritime museum was extremely enjoyable. The bus stop for the Link bus is right outside the hotel, which goes around Auckland stopping at various sites like the Auckland Museuem. You’re a block away from Queen Street with all the bussle and shopping. I had a low floor room so some of the street traffic sounds and the clinking of the hotel’s flags were a bit loud. My main gripe would be the cost of the Internet connection. But that might be a gripe for all hotels in NZ and Australia. Just not used to paying so much for Internet connections and bandwidth limitations. There is a coffee shop across the street which has free one hour wireless connections if you buy something, so that’s one alternative.

Was lucky to find out at the Maritime Museum that they have sailings on their refurbished old sailboats on certain afternoons. Only NZ$10. An amazing deal and way to get on the water for an hour or so.

Definitely a 10!

The view was breathtaking, and the location optimum. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here if I’m in Auckland again.

park car small

The biggest problem in the saty in this hotel is the car park very small and very expensive because the guest need to use one private park car.

Great place with best location

Hotel has comfortable room with great view (upper levels). Also a very good restaurant with superb harbor views. Ask for room upgrade with reduction of full breakfast cost included. Right next to Britomart, local transportation hub.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take airport bus to cbd (central business district) stops close to many major hotels. Walk cbd and adjacent Auckland University campus. Lovely park and sidewalk cafes. Great in good weather.

Mercure Windsor Auckland

Hotel is in a good location, nice staff. However, we had requested a non-smoking room. It was not and no other room available to move into! The room reaked of smoke plus the windows were sealed shut, making it necessary to have the air conditioning unit on when ever we were in the room to have any kind of air circulation. It also made it necessary for all of our clothing to be cleaned after our stay.
