Good place to stay in Helsinki
The Hotel Cumulus Olympia is a great budget hotel, keeping in mind that prices in Finland are generally slightly higher than the rest of Europe, the Hotel offers nice, comfortable rooms with a friendly staff. The trade-off is that to reach the center of town you need to take a short tram ride, but they are often and well maintained. Also, while the breakfast is plentiful, the food quality is closer to a 3 on the 5 scale.

Hotel was ok, but you need a taxi if you want to go to the city centre

Room was very clean but a little small
A short tram ride from the city center but not walking distance. Room was very clean and modern but a little small. Room also had free Internet access with the Ethernet cable waiting underneath the desk.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
There’s a free sauna on the 8th floor, but only open for men from 7-9PM (women are from 5-7); also you can buy a comprehensive transportation pass (if they’re not out of them) from the yellow Kioski ("Kioski") on the corner next to the hotel.
