an excellent short stay
I was in Bucharest for just a day and a half and chose the Intercontinental because of its location. I did not have enough time to enjoy the amenities they offered which was a shame. The hotel was beautiful and the staff well trained. I had phoned ahead the day before to let the hotel know i was meeting my fiance there and she would be arriving a few hours before myself so she could check in until i got there. When i arrived at the hotel it seemed that the room we were given was nicer then the one i had booked, i guess they decided to be nice and give us an upgrade, it was not expected but greatly appreciated. Its those little things that some places notice (meeting my fiance there) and take action to make it a great experience with that extra personal care.

Good Hotel
Hotel is old but vvery well kept. The service was OK, within the required standards for a 5 stars. Centrally located and plennty of parking available. I would definitelly stay again.

Nice Hotel in a Nice Location
While Bucharest does not have a true downtown experience like Prague for instance, the hotel is nonetheless located in the most lively area in the city close to shopping and restaurants. It is also conveniently located near the metro, although taxis are cheap and readily available. The staff of the hotel were courteous and professional, and the rooms are remodeled and quite confortable. I did not like the shower curtains in the bathroom as you have to be careful water does not leak out. All in all, it is a good hotel by all standards and I highly recommend it.
