Comfort and convenience - less pricey than Marriott.
This hotel was great, the bed was very comfortable, good service and had a fridge and microwave in the room. Most Marriotts does not seem to have it these days. best of all it was cheaper than the Marriott. Definitely recommend.

Just right
The room was quiet, and the staff were pleasant. The freeway was close, but you would not know it because the room was so quiet.

Best Front Desk Staff Ever
Honestly, the front desk staff was the best Ive encountered (Ive stayed at five star hotels). I had a problem checking in due to a problem between Expedia and the hotel. Although it was not the hotels fault, the front desk manager upgraded our room and gave us free passes to their breakfast buffet (the value of the buffet was almost as much as I paid for the room). This level of service continued through our entire stay. Breakfast buffet is pricey, but worth it. The omlettes are some of the best Ive eaten and I loved making malted waffles. The negatives - the pool and housekeeping. The pool is really small and unheated. (There is a hot tub, however.) You probably couldnt get five strokes from one end to the other. Housekeeping didnt show up the first day or two and we ran out of clean towels. When we broke a glass, we actually had to vaccuum our own room.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
The Portland Zoo was awesome. Give yourself plenty of time to visit as there is lots to see.
