Great deal in Liverpool city centre
The hotel is brand new, and the rooms are neat. Its situated near the two cathedrals and around the corner from the Philharmonic pub (definitely a place to check out). The only thing that was a bit annoying is that you cant regulate the temperature of the room yourself, so the room was getting too hot sometimes. The room had a great shower too!

Hidden Treasure
From the outside i was dubious as its tucked down a narrow side road and there was scaffolding. Upon entering the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean and modern. The shower was one of the best showers ive ever had, great water pressure! Its located close to the city center, about a 5-10 minute walk. I would recommend Cocoon@International Inn and would definately stay there again.

Good for Students
This hotel is really a place for traveling students. Its located in a student area (right near the universitys student center, in fact). There are plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants and other places to get food close by. What I liked most about it was that it was close to the two things I had come to see: the cathedrals. Most everything is in easy walking distance (including the museums)- as long as youre used to walking, that is. The security is pretty good- the cocoon is separate from the International Inn and requires keycard access both to get into that area of the hotel and to get into your room. The desk is manned at all hours. They ask you what you have come to see when you get in, and show you where it is on a map. I found the map they gave me quite useful. They have free wifi, though I couldnt get it in my room. This wasnt too much of a problem though- I just sat in one of the seats in the hall. The cleanliness of the place was below par for a hotel, but for a hostel it was probably pretty good. The only real problem was that the sheets didnt seem quite clean enough. There were some weird stains on the duvet- though I just took that off. There were a few hairs on the sheets, but other than that they seemed clean. If youre used to midrange hotel standards, you might be put off by this. For a traveling student on a budget, its pretty good accommodation.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This is situated just off Hope Street which links both the Catholic and the Anglican Cathedrals. walking to either is pretty easy, and the Catholic one is very close. The museums (the World Museum, and the art gallery right near it) are a little more of a walk, but close enough to walk to. The rail station is even closer, and I walked both to and from the Cocoon (with a backpack and suitcase).
