Classy for the price
Very nicely appointed, super clean and large room, upgrade flat-screen TV, and I was lucky to get a good view of the river. There were some restaurants in easy walking distance and the Smithsonian offshoot museum is literally across the street. Breakfast was basic but adequate. All in all, pretty good deal.

bait and switch
This hotel is very nice and comfortable. However, the only reason we booked our room was because of an early flight and the shuttle service. We stayed at LaQuinta last year and long term parking was free. There was no mention of a parking fee when we booked our room this year. We were unpleasantly surprised at check in by a $50 fee to leave our vehicle for the week. I explained that there was never a mention of a parking fee when we booked and there was no fee last year. The desk clerk got an attitude and stated, "Well, I guess you got away with not paying last year, because it has been our policy for 5 years." I spoke to several other people who stayed at LaQuinta over the past several years and no one paid an extra fee. I do not appreciate the bait and switch tactics and there are plenty of other hotels near the airport in this price range who are honest about their charges.
