Outstanding Orlando Resort

Everything about this hotel is outstanding from the friendly service to the outstanding rooms to the live parrots in the lobby. The resort amenities are terrific - pools, hot tubs, kayaks, pitch ’n ’putt, walking tails etc. Varied restaurants provide many alternatives. We liked it so much we stayed an additional day.

Very impressed

Stayed for five nights at the end of October. Loved the hotel- not even sure where to start! Beautiful inside and out. Liked having a security gate with a guard. I felt very safe when parking in the non valet lot, even late at night. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions. Room service was excellent and speedy. Guest services was awesome... SO happy they brought me a cork screw in the middle of the night after a long day at Disney World! Great view from our balcony- very close driving distance to Downtown Disney. Wish we would have had more time to spend at the pool. So fun- either side accessed by swimming through a cool cave. The White Horse was nice too- we ate there twice. Loved checking into our airline from the computer in the lobby...was very convenient. Would stay there again for sure!!

Great place to stay

Excellent facilities with a great variety of activities like pools, bikes, boats, etc. It´s near all the actrations like Disney Parks, shops and food markets. Our family felt very comfortable and safe at this Resort.

A lovely escape!

This hotel is grand! Beautiful, clean, nice people, etc. High end. Their Sunday brunch is amazing. We drove the hour just to get their pancakes, best we’ve ever eaten!

Best Orlando/Florida Hotel we have ever experienced-Can’t Wait to go back!

The Hyatt Grand Cypress was absolutely the best resort we have experienced in Florida. The pool is incredible and the entire family will have plenty to do on the resort grounds. Tim greated us at the door in an exceptional friendly manner and continued with each and every Hyatt employee the entire week we were there. Hints: 1) Get to the pool early to get the prime spots, 2) Take advantage of the weight room, 3) definitely play the Grand Cyress GC, especially the new 18 and 4) Set aside a day just to enjoy all the activities on the Hyatt grounds. I stayed at this hotel 25 years ago and believe it or not, it is a better resort now than than it was back in the mid ’80’s! Can’t wait to go back to the Grand Cypress Resort!

If you go to the Disney Parks, pack a couple of bottles of water to take in. We went early for several hours, went back to our hotel room to lie down for a couple of hours and then would jump to another park that afternoon/evening. And make sure Animal Kingdom is one you hit in the morning since it closes early. There is a HUGE Outlet Mall a mile or so from the Hyatt if you like shopping. Have Fun!

Renovation in the hotel made it unpleasant

I highly dont recommend this hotel currently. Renovation in the hotel made it unpleasant to stay there; maybe after the renovation is over I would stay there again.

Very nice swiming pool

A QUIET MELLOW

My stay at this well kept quite manicured hotel was very relaxing. My wife and I are impressed with the room given and the breath taking view from the dual patio’s. The hotel was under construction however this didn’t affect our comfort level one bit. The pool is beautiful and grounds are set to bring about a very romantic evening with great scenery.The hotel service is first class.A quiet mellow.

Best Hotel Ever!

The Hyatt Regency is definitely a resort and should not be called just a hotel. There is so much they offer and we didn’t have a chance to enjoy it all in a week since we did Disney too (which Disney’s entrance was literally right around the corner from the Hyatt). They have the best pool; looks just like a private island with waterfall and coves (real romantic) - not to mention the fun slides they have. This would be just like the Sandals resort - minus the all inclusive food.

Disney Downtown is literally right around the corner and all the other Disney World Parks are only 5 minutes away! Oh, and eat at Bahama Breeze which is less than 5 minutes away - the best authentic food we’ve tasted in a long time. They need one in Houston.

We were upgrade to one of the new rooms. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Dinner at Hemmingways for the 4th time was excellent as usual.

Try the outlet mall the bargains are great. As the hotel for the discount voucher or go to information in the mall (foodcourt) present your AAA card and get your voucher to shop.

When I was searching online this seemed like a really nice hotel. But, everything about this hotel totally superceded our expectations. It was AMAZING!! The best hotel we have ever stayed at. From the amazing customer service to the aviance, to all the great activities, to the cleanliness, to the yummy food...it was truly the BEST!! Take it from me, you will NOT be disappointed.

My family and I had a great time. Would defentlly go back.

It’s a beatiful place to be at. We felt so safe being in the pool at 3:00 a.m.

its a god hotel for a week end not more

i liked the hotel,the lake was nice, swiming pools were open24 hours, they had bikes and alot of oher nice activites, but i was disapointed when i found out that i had to pay for internet, where all other smaller hotels were having free internt, then when i went for breakfast my room was ioncluding breakfast and they wanted to charge me for the tax i thougt that was some what annoying, to have your car parked by the hotel you have to pay 20$ i thought that was not fair if your staying at the hotel, plus they kept the parking lot far away so i had to pak my car far away every dy which was very anoying for me .

I will stay there again

The only fault I have is not really with the hotel but with the service they use to take you to the various theme parks. The buses do not identify themselves properly so you don’t know if where they are going. They have a digital marquee on the front of the bus. They need to use it to supply destination info.

Very nice hotel

We stayed there on a last minute trip. We got one of the renovated rooms and it was beautiful. Since we had an infant, they were kind enough to put us away from the construction. The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff was very friendly. The amenities were great. We are definitely planning on going back for a long weekend. There is so much to do, you dont even have to leave the hotel.

Too Big For Me

I visited Orlando with my sister and my son, and we stayed at The Hyatt Regency Grand Express. The hotel size is impressive, but when we walked into the hotel, the hotel had an indistinct smell, that made me think it was more of a second rate hotel. Once we were checked in, we went to our room- but felt compelled to go check on the substantial grounds. The pool is really cool. It’s surrounded by a manmade cave in some areas. We were in Orlando to go to Universal Studios and also to go on a ecosafari zipline tour, so we had to get back to our rooms sooner than I would have liked. The room was okay- somewhat on the small side though. The whole time we were there I had the feeling I wanted to get out of the room and do something, because just knowing there was so much to do, made me feel kind of lazy just sitting in my room. It’s a resort, with so much to do. If I am visiting to participate in activities outside of the hotel, I will opt to stay in a hotel that is not on a resort.

If you are visiting Florida for the local Theme parks, just be aware that staying at a Hotel on a resort may leave you feeling like there’s too much to do and too little time.

great hotel, but could use some improvement in food services,,,

with that being said, we were extremely satisfied with our stay at the Hyatt Regency - however there were a few points of improvement that could have been used. there weren’t that many choices in restaurants and though the food was okay, the service took forever. I’m not too sure, but it could have been just a busy night. we had to wait over 40 minutes to be served. other than that, they do have some renovations going on which weren’t too much of an inconvenience for us. in fact, we weren’t particularly bothered by it until the last 2 days where we woke up a little later than usual. they seem to start work at around 8-9AM. in regards to these renovations, their newly renovated rooms were a pleasure to stay in. overall, i would stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone. thank you for having us.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

though there were only 3 shuttles in the morning and 3 shuttles at night, we made great use of them because they offered free rides to the main Disney parks. most of these parks have connecting shuttles to other parks so save your money for a cab ride at night as the times of the buses aren’t too convenient then.

Really, can’t wait to go back!

Very friendly and helpful staff, they make you feel like they are there for you to have a pleasent stay, any request, regardless it is midnight or 3am, they are there and willing to help. Hotel is under remodeling but we did not feel or hear anything.

I had a bad experience with rental car from Hertz. When I called them they asked me to drive 17 miles to the airport to change the car. With limited time, it would be impossible.

Not impressed

The housekeeping staff failed to clean my room properly. I had to place a daily call for wash rags go be brought to my room. The linen was not changed until I made a request. No hotel to airport shuttle. We paid $52 comin in and $58 going to airport. Probably will not return.

Beautiful and great location

Pool was beautiful and so big it was never overcrowded. Grounds were beautfiul. Food at hotel is pricey but a lot of budget friendly restaurants right outside. Renovations did not bother us . Stayed in renovated room and it was very modern and beautiful. Theme parks are 15 mins down the road. Will be staying there next year!

Would recomend

The staff was courteous and eager to help.Hotel was beatifully landscaped,Lobby,Dining rooms and Guest rooms very clean and nicely decorated. The pool was very clean, kids had alot of fun in cave areas.During my stay construction was underway but didn’t interfere. Food very expensive but quite good.Took hotel shuttle to end of property for a short walk to other good restaurants.I was dissapointed with the limited bussing to parks.Management was very accomodating.

Take shuttle to other restaurants,pool was beautiful,mini-golf,and paddle boats are included and alot of fun!Be aware of limited bussing to parks.

Love the newly renovated room!!

The room was so nice, especially the nice modern decor. I was amazed at the amenities they offered. You can request a list of things that you might have forgotten to pack, even nail polish remover. I had a great time. I would love to come back!

Under construction 7/09

Hotel under construction.Didnt hear any noise from them but they were obvious during the day.Grounds are beautiful, staff-excellent. Newly remodeled room, tub/shower door is one glass door 1/2 the size of tub opening. DUMB!Restaurants at hotel were closed, guess due to lack of business. Great restaurants local and cheaper than the one restaurant in hotel that was open. (Check out the CrabHouse in shopping center across the street)Would stay again after construction is complete. Pool gets crowded on weekend, but they are big enough for everyone!!
