Basic Rooms in a Great Location
The best thing about the Leda Beach Hotel is its location: the restaurant is literally built into the ruins of an ancient Roman street, and you can eat breakfast while viewing the ancient theater from the deck. Its also only a few blocks from a very busy tourist shopping area and nice sandy beaches. The hotel itself is quite basic--small, budget-type rooms opening onto a narrow courtyard between the main road and a rocky beach. The "beach" behind the hotel is rocky and backs up onto a sidewalk, making it virtually unusable. There were some cottages near the pool that might have been a bit nicer, but I never saw the inside of them. Breakfast was adequate, but the dinner buffet looked rather stale, so I ate elswehere. The hotel seemed to attract a lot of British people. For a short stay, the Leda Beach Hotel was fine, but its definitely a budget property. For anyone interested in the ruins of ancient Side, it cant be beat!
Traveler's tip
The hotel is easy to miss; look for the sign on the front of the restaurant on the right a block before the theater.
