Great place to stay for the Rose Bowl

This Hotel is less than 10 minutes away from the Rose Bowl. We stayed there for the U2 concert this past October. We were happy that the hotel was just off the off-ramp. There are places to eat near by like Jack in the Box, Marie Calendars and a couple of gas stations. The room was clean, all though my reservation was for a NON smoking room the Hotel had me booked for a SMOKING room. After insisting with the receptionist and even showing here my confirmation from Expedia that showed that we had aNON smoking room, she made the change, but made me feel like she was doing me a favor, bad customer service attitude! Good thing that we booked early and were able to clarify the hotels mistake. Other than that everything was great, and we were very happy with the hotel.

Park early and leave just a few minuted before the show ends, that will save you a couple of hours waiting to get out.

Hotel was adequate.

The carpet in the first room was recently shampooed and had a stong cleaner smell. They moved us to a new room with no issues. Second room was clean and worked well.

Did the job

Pros: Inexpensive. Room we ended up in was clean and functional, and did not smell of cleaners/fragrance very much. Not too bad an area. Cons: Older building, and kinda run down; electrical outlets were very loose fitting, for example. No WiFi (ended up using my iPhone’s cell network connection for the minimal net activity I needed to do). Other thoughts: Not a luxury hotel, so I wouldn’t pick it for a vacation; but if all you want is a clean bed and shower, it works OK. It can be hard to get an OK hotel in the LA area without spending an arm and a leg, but this one strikes the balance OK (especially if the trip is coming out of my own pocket!) The first room we were assigned stunk really bad (I think the previous occupant had spilled a bottle of cologne on the carpet); but the staff immediately came up and moved us to a new room as soon as we called the front desk, and had a good attitude about it (apologetic, not surly etc).

This was a great place to stay they really took care of me and my wife.

Not Impressed

We asked for a non-smoking room. The person at the counter said it was a non smoking room. The elevator smelled heavely of cigarettes. In the room it was just a giant cigarette, There were 3 ashtrays and the bedding smelled of smoke. We left the patio door open all night to get rid of some of the smell. After arriving home, all our clothes smelled of cigarettes and we had to wash them all. Not very satisfied!

December stay

We stayed in the hotel prior to the Rose parade because most other properties close to Pasadena were full. The hotel met our one night needs. Nothing fancy, not a great part of town - but it worked out fine for us.

Glendale Days inn

Very pleased with the overall cleanliness of the hotel, and friendliness of the staff. Parking is limited near the hotel during certain times of the day, but ample parking is available across the street. Very close to route 5.

Hotel was awesome!!!!!!

The stay was great. Location of the hotel was prefect. But what was really amazing was the honestly of the employees from the housekeepers, to the front desk staff and of course management. My son left is brand new jacket, in the room. I was called and advised. Three days later, I revieced the jacket. Thank you, very much.

It served its purpose fine, but I wouldn’t return

It’s an okay hotel, room was clean and spacious, service was okay, but not sufficient to prompt a return to the hotel. We stayed because they allowed pets, and beyond the $50 deposit we had to put down (which was not charged but held on Good Faith pending any actual damage occured) we were not charged any fee for having our pet with us. However, our little guy was frusterated being near other animals and yet unable to see them, and the bed was too hard, and so we didn’t get a whole lot of sleep, but it served its purpose so it was fine.

Pleasantly Surprised

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Days Inn in Glendale. We were both very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the room for the price we paid. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. We used the heated swimming pool and spa, which were very refreshing and well kept, though the chlorine seemed a bit strong. Housekeeping came to our room in a timely manner when we requested pool towels and extra coffee packets. The hotel location was great, within walking distance of a few good restaurants and some fast food establishments. There was plenty of free parking in the lot across the street from the hotel. We slept well and considered the hotel very quiet. I’m telling everyone I know to stay here when they’re in the L.A. area.

Traveler's tip on dining

A great breakfast is to be had at Conrad’s Family Restaurant. Ask the hotel staff for directions. Get the hash browns!

Excellent Value

The hotel met all our needs and the staff was very accommodating to any of our needs. Pleasant area and free parking. We walked in the mornings or swam in the pool. Nice neighborhood area with local shops. A good resturant open from 7 am to 9 pm with reasonable prices and pleasant service.

Traveler's tip on shopping

there is an awesome galleria mall within walking distance with great shops and friendly service and good prices. It is also only a short drive to a large park with museums, golf, zoo, and a planeterium.
