Quite pleases; great hotel for the money
I was very pleased with Hotel Gabriel. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was small, but it was just me so that was fine. Room was very clean. Hotel is close to many different metro lines so all of Paris is easily accessible. The staff at the front desk was able to suggest restaurants in the area, point me in the direction of a convenience store, and answer any questions I had about things in the area. I would definitely stay there again, given the friendliness, cleanliness and affordability of the hotel.

Clean, modern hotel in Paris
The Hotel Gabriel was a great place to stay for my first trip to Paris. It is located near the Republique metro stop and situated in a nice neighborhood, close to yummy restaurants. It was a Zen hotel, with emphasis on relaxation and taking care of your body. The decor is very modern (lots of white and dark wood) and very clean. The concierges were very helpful in recommending places to eat. My favorite was La Pharmacie (sp?)which was right up the street. The only ’complaint’ I have is when I couldn’t figure out how to use my phone card, they tried to help me and couldn’t figure it out and just kind of gave up. I was very frustrated and was hoping for more guidance than they gave. However, overall it was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it!
Traveler's tip on dining
Definitely ask the concierge for restaurant recommendations. They will steer you away from touristy spots and recommend local places that aren’t expensive but offer authentic French food and great wine!

Luxurious and serene
We arrived at the Gabriel after two consecutive nights on overnight trains, so this was an absolute oasis. We got to the hotel at around 10:30 a.m., just hoping to drop off our bags, but we were allowed to check in to our room, which was plush, crisp, and stocked with Korres bath products. The beds are comfortable, the staff are helpful, and the hotel is all tranquil luxury in a great neighborhood.
