Best hotel we stayed at in Europe

After disappointing rooms in Rome and London we were pleasantly surprised in Paris at the Saint Germain. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I actually felt like we were welcome and wished we would have had more time in Paris. I had heard over and over how the French were not kind to tourists from America. Wrong...they were nicer in Paris than in Rome or London in my opinion. I loved every thing about Paris and hope to return to this hotel in the future! It was in a great location...we walked to the Louve and along the river. You could even walk to the Eiffel Tower too. It is located on a clean street full of beautiful little shops. I simply loved the atmosphere and appreciated the kind staff members at the hotel. Also, don’t miss the museum in the old train station...can’t recall the name of the place but it is definitely worth a couple hours of your time (D Orsay Museum)and it is very close to the hotel. The walk there is very nice too!

Traveler's tip on dining

Be careful...my husband and I split a full meal for 26 euros and then was surprised to be charged another 16 euros for two cokes...the exchange rate makes everything for Americans twice as expensive.

Would stay there again.

Great central location within walking distance to main tourist attractions, great Parisian ambiance, nice cafes, Metro stop and little shops close in the vicinity. Grocery store accross the street. quaint antique shops at the end of the street leading to large department stores. Pleasant and helpful staff, clean rooms. Nice continental breakfast provided by the hotel.

St. Germain hotel Paris

Nice lobby. Pleasant staff. Very accomodating. Would recommend to a friend. However, would make them aware that rooms are small, and not as cleanly as could be, but decent.
