Clean, remodeled rooms
Doesn’t look like much from the street but the staff are friendly and helpful and the recenty remodeled rooms are comfortable. Good value for a modestly priced motel in the area. Plenty of places to eat and shop in the neighborhood.

Beautiful cozy little place
Small, modern family operated inn. Rooms were of adequate size, very clean and new. The neighborhood was very nice with lots of dinners within walking distance. Parking was convenient and the we were very close to the high way so it was an easy 20 minute drive to San Francisco. Overall it was a nice surprise.
A car is important. we didnt try the transportation, but san mateo is a bit far from all the interesting spots

Decent place, warning about the beds though
Our stay was mainly for the purpose of sleeping for the night. The rooms we were given were supposed to be non-smoking but the smell of cigarettes were strong. The sheets are nice and soft. The beds are too firm for my comfort. If you prefer that, they have nice, new mattresses, sturdy I guess. The basics are there: mini refrigarator, microwave, ironing board and the flat iron itself, but no coffee maker. The whole place has been remodeled so it is a good place. My 15 yr old first looks in the shower for cleanliness, it passed his meticulous inspection. The breakfast room was neat and well stocked from 7 to 9 am. Safety in the neighborhood is a little questionable because of the graffitis on the wall at the end of the parking lot but still, they have a full house for a regular Friday night. The front desk man, who might be the owner of the place, seemed tired and did not get enough sleep when he signed us in . He did not even smile and was easy to say no when asked if the two rooms we got can be adjacent to each other. He did say it was full though, but not any welcoming remark to make you remeber good service.
