Guests of Thornbury Castle enjoy a complimentary full English breakfast each morning. Tower Dining Room - Atmospheric hexagonal-shaped room with arrow-slit windows, a large open fireplace, ancestral portraits and heraldic crests. Serves modern European-style dishes, including Aged Fillet of Beef Wrapped in Cecina with Crisp Rosti Potato and Amontillado sauce, and Iced Nougatine Parfait with Pistachio Biscuit and Macerated Dried Fruit. Opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oriel Dining Room - Intimate dining room with an open fireplace, and historical paintings hanging on the wood panelled walls. Serves modern European-style dishes, including Creamed Butter Bean Soup, from the same menu as Tower Dining Room. Opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Children's high tea is served between 6 and 7.15 PM each evening. |
Recreation
Croquet and archery can be enjoyed in the castle grounds at any time, and staff can also arrange clay pigeon shooting and falconry upon request (surcharge). The castle has a 500 year-old working vineyard and guests are invited to take part in grape picking during September and October.
