Aloft
I took my 28 year old daughter here before her morning flight and it was a hip, chic, urban hotel with a lot of cool touches--our favorites: the elevator floors and the resident cat at the pool...the only downside, someone almost got away with charging our room for their bar order so check your bill!

This is where I will stay from now on!
The aloft really sets a standard for what hotels in the 21st century should be. I do not mean the hip post modern styling (although I love it), the rooms are very well thought out, there is plenty of things to do IN the hotel and it’s very accommodating to anyone living in the digital age. The rooms all have flat screen TV’s that has a Jack-Pack on the desk for you to plug in anything from a game system to your computer to show on the screen. I & my party found it very nice & easy to use as we had a xbox 360, old-school nintendo & a laptop to hookup. Check in and check out was easy and the staff reacted quickly to any request I made. Anyone that has asked about it I’ve said "It’s like an IKEA you can sleep in"
For anyone who has never driven on a mix-master highway, getting to the aloft may be tricky. Do not trust GPS or online maps when you get to the intersection the hotel is at, trust your eyes and intuition. The hotel is in a shopping center on the inside of the loop & doesn’t really have a sign.

Pleasantly surprised
We have an Aloft here in Dallas, so I thought I knew exactly what I was getting when we planned our stay at Aloft San Antonio: decent price, few amenities, sleek, cool design. I was pleasantly surprised by all the little touches - a very cool bar with a really nice and helpful bartender, a lounge area with a pool table, a neat little breakfast bar that we sadly did not use, and a really chic pool area that I wish we’d visited during the day. The design completely lived up to the hype: very minimal, sleek design and very efficient. Everything down to the bathroom sink and the bed’s headboard were very modern, and totally chic. I loved everything about the room’s aesthetic and my only complaint was that the mini-fridge kind of tipped over a little bit. All in all a good experience and perfect for a long weekend where we weren’t going to be at the hotel that much anyway. If you don’t really need room service and a breakfast buffet, Aloft is a great choice!
