Great for a Business Trip in Downtown Omaha

Convenient Location (10 mins from airport and 4 blocks from the old market); very friendly staff; free shuttle service to and from the airport (may be able to arrange other locations if they are not to busy); free nightly happy hour and cookies and milk before bed; Gym and business center are open 24/7.

We will go back.

This is a great property, and I recommend it. We did have trouble getting our room serviced during our stay. Housekeeping seemed to ignore our room. This did not really affect us, but it was the only blemish on an otherwise nice property.

Nice Hotel - TINY SHOWER

The Magnolia is absolutely beautiful, the only complaint is there was some sort of mistake when designing the bathrooms and the shower is tiny. I had a hard time taking a shower and it was impossible for my husband and we are not big people at all.

Great hotel for a weekend leisure trip

We stayed at the hotel during a weekend trip with kids. After a long day at the zoo, it was wonderful to lay on those comfortable beds. The hotel and the room looked sophisticated yet laid back. To top it off, the breakfast on the courtyard made us feel like we were on vacation. The staff were courteous and the valet service was useful. The complimentary happy hour as well as the cookies and milk in the evening have surely made our hearts longing for more Magnolia. We will certainly go back.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We drove around the area to get a feel of the downtown. Once we knew what we wanted to see or do, we parked and walked. This helped us save time instead of walking aimlessly.

Great location, but the rooms were very small and neat further updating completed

The hotel was conveniently located near the "Old Market" and near the wedding we attended. Our room had been updated, but it was very small the it could use further updates, specifically the bathroom door! That being said; the bed was very comfortable the room temperature was ideal. In addition, the hotel was updated with a modern feel. The breakfast was very accessible, but not a lot of variety. I would recommend this to others if only utilizing the hotel for sleeping.

Good place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to activities we wanted to do. The hotel was clean and the staff pretty friendly. Unfortunatly on our first night there, there was a wedding party creating some noise that woke up my wife at 1am, I slept through it. Parking is valet only unless you happen to get one of the ten or so metered spots around the hotel. We took advantage of the complimentary drinks, cookies and breakfast offered. Overall we were happy with our stay and would likely stay here again.

Traveler's tip

There is a small market (patrick’s market) a few blocks down if you need something and don’t want to travel too far to get it.

The place to stay in downtown Omaha

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Magnolia and were very satisfied. The service was very friendly, and the room was both unique and comfortable. This will be our place to stay for future trips to Omaha.

Traveler's tip on dining

Jazz-A Louisiana Kitchen is a short walk...incredible food and drinks. Cajun is their specialty but they also have a good selection of non-Cajun, non-spicy food that almost anyone would enjoy. A very good time.

Very charming

Love the charming old building with modern decor. Service was excellent. Very quiet location. Shuttle extremely convenient. Walking distance to the Old Market a plus. Breakfast had a wide variety to choose from. Didn’t have a chance to take advantage of happy hour or cookies before bed, but nice touch!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Old Market is very charming with lots of restaurants to choose from.

Bring some tools

Shortly after checking in to my room I discovered the only overhead light did not work and called the front desk to fix it. They said they would that eve but did not. The bathroom sink drain did not work - fortunately the plumbing beneath was exposed so I fixed this problem. Next morning discovered the room hairdryer did not work so called the front desk again. Did not receive the dryer for an hour which by then was too late. Beautiful hotel in great location. Could use a little better service.

Beautiful historic building!

The building and our room were lovely! The breakfast buffet was delicious and plenteous with a nice variety! BUT, our room was on the front of the building just over the entrance and also very near the elevators. We stayed on a Friday night, so from 1-3:00 am it was very noisy with other travelers returning from bars and parties. Request a quieter end of the building. Also, there was only one employee at the service desk when we checked in which caused quite a wait.

Very nice and great location

We had tickets to a show at the Orpheum Theatre and picked this hotel due to location. We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were updated and very nice. Enjoyed the cocktail hour but missed the cookies and milk due to the length of the show. The breakfast had a nice selection but some of the food was on the cold side. All in all, a great place to stay downtown - close to the Old Market area as well.

Great, Stylish Hotel!

My husband and I stayed at the Magnolia for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed our stay! The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We used the valet service during our stay, and felt like we were well taken care of. Just have some cash on hand to tip. You call call from your room ahead of time, so they have your car warmed up and ready to go. We got a lot of snow while we were there, and the valets took great care in making sure all the snow was cleared off before we got in. They were even brushing the car windows off as we pulled away. The rooms are very comfortable. The only complaint would be that they are a bit small, but the hotel is a "historic site" (which is why they have not added a swimming pool or hot tub to the building), so the tighter space is understandable. It surely wasn’t enough to make our stay uncomfortable by any means. The lounge has such a fun and relaxing atmosphere. A great place to enjoy the nightly happy hour! Loved the updated decor!! Very modern. We walked to our restaurant of choice every night... the hotel is roughly 6 blocks from all the restaurants in the Old Market area. A walk that was enjoyable even on a mild winter’s night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back to this hotel in an instant!

Great Staff!

Enjoyed our stay but because of Expedia requirement to pay in advance didn’t know how long my stay would be. I booked second booking to get Expedia rate and hotel was confused over booking and did not make up room last day of stay. Excellent staff and got a very warm comfortable feeling in very cold and windy weather.

Not impressed

The pictures and bio on this hotel made it seem great. I was disappointed in the service, food, and overall appearance of the hotel. Part of our hotel room was updated and the rest looked like it was from a hotel in the 70s. I thought the bartender was extremely nice. The restaurant menu only had about 5 choices and the breakfast was horrible. I also heard that they would chauffer the guests to the Old Market, but the desk girl suggested us to walk to 5 blocks in the blowing snow. Would not stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Traveler's tip on dining

Upstream Brewing Company was great - kind of pricy, but good food.

Loved it!

What a breath of fresh air! I prefer to not stay in "cookie cutter" hotels. The Magnolia was quite the opposite - beautifully, yet comfortably decorated. The staff was extremely courteous. Our room was very quiet. Complimentary drinks from 5:30-6:30 and a free breakfast buffet made the Magnolia a great deal! We will return.

Traveler's tip on dining

Very near great dining.

Great service with a great special

I got a great rate on the hotel on Expedia and was very impressed by the service there. The hotel shuttle took me to and from the airport and drove me to and from my meeting - it was like having a driver. I spend no money on transportation. The room was nice, and the hotel has a good workout room and bar. For the special rate I paid, this was a great value.

Magnolia met our expectations

The hotel is very near to downtown shopping, dining, drinking and business. The staff took us to/from the places we wanted in the snow. Breakfast was good and the evening cookies were great!

Great Downtown Hotel

Checked in around 4pm and had everything lined up for a 5am departure for the airport. Staff had the car warmed-up, windows scraped (it was cold!), and cookies waiting for us when we got to the lobby. Room was large, updated, had a great shower/bathroom, and was a perfect night’s stopover for my wife and I.

Very enjoyable stay

My stay at the Magnolia in Omaha was outstanding. The entire staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The night-time cookies and milk made the stresses of this business trip disappear.
