Il Mulino delle Canutole

The holiday farmhouse is called “Il Mulino delle Canutole”. It was originally an oil mill belonging to a 19th century farm on a hill covered with ancient olive trees, between Umbria and Tuscany. The name “canutola” is local dialect for the aromatic herb called “santolina selvatica” (wild santolina), which still grows thick and wild around the hill. Its strongly perfumed yellow flowers were once dried in the sun, then placed in small bags and used to perfume bed linen. The farm house is inside a big private property with olive trees and a really big garden full of perfumed flowers. A big swimming pool (6mt x 12 mt) with a relaxing area is available (open from 15th june to 10th september) for our guests for free.
