Estalagem Santa Catarina

The Estalagem Santa Catarina is a traditional hotel, located in historical city of Miranda do Douro, in Trás-os-Montes, Portugal. This is the land of the traditional “Pauliteiros” and bagpipes and a own local Mirandese language with a history and heritage unique in the country. The hotel is surrounded by the International Douro river natural park, in a hillside from which one has a magnificent view of the river banks and landscape and of the beautiful flight of eagles and vultures. The restaurant is the “Julio Resende” room where several of his wonderful tilework provide the atmosphere for enjoying the rich and varied regional gastronomy, such as the typical “posta mirandesa” and the excellent wines. The Mirandese region is famous for the excellent service, the richness of the artwork and in Miranda do Douro the old city quarter with the cathedral dating from the Middle Ages.
