Villa Bonera
The Bonera Hotel is located in Nervi, at the East Ligurian coast (Riviera di Levante), a few miles from the Genoa city center. It is established in the prestigious "Villa Bonera", built in 1500, restored in 1700 and, since 1850, site for a hotel. Still today, history and tradition of such building are testified by the distinction of the ample rooms, by the stylish interior decorations as well as by the ceilings, endowed in several rooms with beautiful frescos. Surrounded by a private park, the Hotel is settled just in Nervi’s center — a few yards from the seaside and from the suggestive walk, right behind the little port and the Serra Groppallo Park It offers thus the opportunity to easily reach the Genoa Aquarium, Portofino and the district of "Cinque Terre", even via sea, thanks to a ferryboat service.

A journey to the past
First consideration: Villa Bonera is a 500 years old building! Hence, let me tell you this: to sleep in a room with a painted ceiling does not happen everyday. The hosts are extremely friendly and it is really nice talking to the owner of the hotel to learn about Genoa and its people. The Villa itself is very nice even though could be much better with some serious restoring (but, I am sure, it cannot be that cheap). The location is in Nervi and you can even see the sea from your room. There is also a common balcony where to relax with such a beautiful view. In my opinion the Villa offers the best quality/cost ratio among the hotels I have been in Genoa. Ah, I was forgetting: you cannot miss the hand-made cake which is offered every morning for breakfast.
