Doubletree Burlington

Very pleased

We stayed one night in the hotel and were very pleased with the service. We unexpectedly stayed in the same hotel two days later when USAirways put us up there because of a cancelled flight. My daughter had left her phone charger at the hotel a couple of days before, and I thought it was lost forever. However, when I inquired about it on our second visit, the staff could not have been nicer about getting into the housekeeping room, digging it up, and bringing it to our room. Good service!

Nice Hotel in a good location to public transport

I stayed for 1 night on a business trip- the hotel was very nice and clean. A reasonable resturant attached to the hotel-food was good. People very helpful and friendly. All the necessary facilities for business people-business center, wireless internet available. Location was perfect-near to public transport or taxis are readily available for a trip to downtown Burlington and a mall within walking distance.

Clean hotel, helpful staff

Location is close enough to the university and downtown to be convenient. Staff are very helpful. Food in the on site restaurant acceptable. Rooms well-kept with comfortable beds. Half as expensive as downtown hotels, close to the airport with transport free from the hotel. Would stay here again.

I really enjoyed my stay. The bed was divine and the business center was easy to use to print out my boarding pass (way too early flight the next morning...) Staff was very friendly too. Thanks!

Al’s Diner right down the street had awesome burgers, shakes, and their fries were well worth it.

Comfortable, well-run and well-maintained hotel, but not in an impressive location.

Wonderful experience

We highly recommend. Restaurant was wonderful. Staff was very attentive - without being intrusive. We stayed in a suite - very nice accommodations. Great experience - wished we could have stayed longer!

Hotel was SUPER CLEAN - personnel were SUPER NICE - restaurant served a GREAT breakfast.

The breakfast was terrific, fairly priced and the service was great. I was impressed with all aspects of this hotel.

Stayed while visiting UVM - which is right down the road. Definitely eat in Burlington - there are a lot of trendy eateries and music venues.

A good choice

There were two hotel choices for the conference I was attending in Burlington. The Doubletree was slightly more expensive, but after reading the reviews of both here I chose it anyway and am glad I did. The room was great - and none of that lingering "Well, it’s nonsmoking *now*" odor found in so many nonsmoking rooms. The people at the front desk were happy to help with any request, even if it wasn’t their job; as someone who doesn’t travel often and doesn’t always know the "correct" person to ask about something, this was much appreciated. And I want to emphasize *happy* - no grumbling or eye-rolling. I wish I could report on the indoor swimming pool, but the conference didn’t give me time to try it out. All of my meals were also at the conference so I can’t review the food, but it *smelled* great. I gave the service a 4 rather than a 5 because of the long wait for the shuttle at the airport, which has been mentioned. Turns out it had been diverted to pick up someone at a hospital, which is understandable, but it would have been nice if the person I talked to on the phone had known that and told me what the wait would really be. The one suggestion I gave at check-out was better communication between the shuttle and the "courtesy call" person.

Traveler's tip

Burlington is very socially-conscious. Don’t be offended by signs reminding you to turn out the lights or not to use more linens than you need - they’re everywhere, as is fair trade coffee. And if you’re driving in the city, know that pedestrians really *do* get the right-of-way; that’s the law in most cities but often not followed. However you’re getting around, I’ll note that St. John Vianney Catholic church is within walking distance of the hotel and I enjoyed its "small town parish" feel.

Great Business Hotel

I was there for one night. Great room. Very comfortable. Wireless. Staff got a cab for me the next morning. I wish I could have had more time to enjoy it.

Second stay

I chose the Doubletree Burlington because I was so pleased with my first stay nearly two years ago. And it will be my first choice the next time I stay in Burlington VT.

If time allows, spend a day at the Shelburne Museum south of Burlington.

Shuttle all night is very sharp.

we appreciate very much the shuttle for the airport, our all night service is very rapid and frendly. the fireplace in the restaurant is a plaisir to the sens.

Very nice hotel

We stayed there for 5 nights over the New Years holiday. Service was wonderful! Our room was maintained well each day. The restaurant is great too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone headed to Burlington.

we arrived early due to a snow storm. They let us check in hours earlier than regular check in hours. the pool and the hot tub were great and there is a nice restaurant in the hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. A great value. Also, pet friendly.

This hotel was awesome! If you want that home away from home feeling, stay here! The front desk people were very friendly and before handing us our room keys, we were given two warm fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies that were delicious! The room itself was fantastic...the decor was classy and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. It also came equipped with a mini-fridge and quality toiletries. There is also a good restaurant attached to the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and again!

This hotel is located across the street from the Higher Ground (music venue) so if you want to have fun and not worry about driving afterwards, it’s perfect for that! It is also very close to a mall and shopping area, as well as, downtown Burlington (maybe two miles away). Happy travels!

Met Expectations

Decent room for a good rate, considering how expensive VT is overall. The restaurant wasn’t that great...very plain food. But it was convenient. Close to the airport and an $11 cab ride to some local hot spots.

Exceeded expectations. Great array of toilet articles, free bed board offered in guest brochure. Something undefinable particularly pleasing about room. Great restaurant, not ridiculously expensive. Puzzle: No one cleaned the room between the 2 nights of my 2-night stay--probably the result of a misunderstanding.

Excellent Choice for Burlington, VT

This was probably one of our best one-night stays in a hotel. Whether you’re visiting or just passing through Burlington, VT, the Doubletree is just the ticket. Room cleanliness and character of service were both high. But the truly great qualities of this hotel involve its location and amenities. Right off Route 89, just a mile or two up Route 2 from the university, downtown and Lake Champlain, the Doubletree couldn’t possibly have a more convenient locale. As for the amenities or offerings, we were most impressed by the excellent fitness center and pool. The spa/jacuzzi was great, but we were especially pleased with the first-rate locker/shower rooms and unlimited towels. This may seem silly, but little things like a well-ordered locker room with plenty of fresh, dry towels make the difference between a fine place and a so-so place. The Doubletree Burlington may not be a 5 star luxury hotel, but it sure acts like one. Thanks!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

By all means, use the Fitness Center/Pool. It’s well-equipped and well-ordered. I’m a former Div. I athlete and believe me, you won’t find better facilities in a hotel of this level.

Pretty basic

Pretty standard hotel. Some construction work being done while we were there; likely better after completed. Only real complaint was that the halls smelled a little of cigarette smoke, even in the no-smoking areas. Hotel staff did not provide a satisfactory answer or solution.
