Hong Kong’s newest luxurious hotel

This is an extremely nice hotel, but it is still too new and it does not necessarily have all of its act together. However, their staff is very polite and givecourteous. Once the hotel goes through their break-in period with the staff gaining exoerience, it should become one of the leading hotels and could become a 5 star. I have very high expectations and plan to stay their six months from now. I am sure it will straighten out its weaknesses, which are few, even at this point. The only thing that really bothered me was the slow elevator response time. There were times when I had to wait 5 minutes for an elevator to come. This probably cannot be fixed because the engineers and architects were probably not familiar with elevator distribution on a 42 story hotel building. The neighborhood is a few train stations away from the central district. There are not high end restaurants or shopping districts within walking distance from the hotel. The food in the hotel was excellent, but it gets a little boring eating inside the hotel during the entire stay. Maybe there will be some new high end restaurants that will open in the neighborhood in the future.

Get the Octopus card at the Hong Kong airport which let’s you get on the subway/rail system without the need to figure out how much to pay to your destination. The subway system also let’s you go to pratically anywhere you want to go and is very economical, clean and safe. Everything is in English and easy to learn. It beats riding the taxi where the drivers do not necessarily speak English and you could end up spending much more than the subway. On my first day, I took a taxi that ended up costing HK$80. On the subway, it cost HK$4 for the same route and took only one fifth of the time (5 minutes vs 25 minutes).

Extremely impressive hotel

This hotel is beautiful!! Not only every room has a harbor view; the 360 degree bar/restaurant on the top floor garrantee you the best view in HK. There is a water front area only for the hotel guests that is the best spot for watching the sunset. It’s truly breath taking. The swimming pool has a great view of HK skyline as well. The hotel is brand new so it’s very clean and fresh. All the staff are very polite, friendly, and helpful. Other reviews mentioned that there are more staff than visitors. But I love the fact that I am well taken care of. It’s farely convinent to get around. The hotel shuttle takes you almost everywhere on the HK island for free. The subway station is only 2 blocks away. The only drawlback of is the hotel surroundings. The area is still under developing. There are many car shops around the hotel and one garbage station along the way to the main street. But if you only take taxi to get around, you will not notice these places at all. I highly recommend this hotel. I cannot wait to go back.
