Nice hotel

The New Osaka hotel is a nice hotel. The room that we had was very small. For two people it was tight. There was no closet, but there were two wooden hangers on two coat hooks attached to the middle of the mirror in the room. Very strange! Since we spent almost no time in the room this wasn’t too bad. The room had a flat screen TV (which we never watched), coffee/tea maker, small fridge, and free internet if you had your own laptop. Breakfast was included in our price and the breakfast was wonderful!! They had a large assortment of both Japanese and Western foods and drinks. The hotel is located across the street from the Shin Osaka train station. This made for very convenient train travel from the local level to travel throughout the country. The staff was very friendly and as helpful as they could be. The day we checked out, our train didn’t leave until 7pm and they held our bags so we could spend the day sight seeing.

If you like aquariums, the Osaka aquarium is incredible. It is one of only a couple in the world to house Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and Ocean Sunfish. They said it was the 2nd largest aquarium in the world.

I’m too big, Japanese hotel rooms are to small

It was a nice hotel but felt like it hadn’t seen any updating in a while. I felt like I was in the 70’s. Otherwise the room was kind of small but I think that’s just how it is in Japan. It was very reasonably priced for what we got. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn’t spend a lot of time in their room. The best part about it was it’s proximity to the Shin-Osaka Station. It was not even a block away. We were able to get anywhere in Osaka from there as well as Kyoto and Nara. We also took the Shinkansen from there to Tokyo.

Good value for money

The hotel is located 5 minutes walk away from Shin-Osaka station. A good thing is that you can actually see it from the central exit of the station so its easy to find. It has good connection to Kansai International airport via the train station. The express train takes about 40 minutes. Its only one station away from Osaka main station. The hotel seems to specialise in wedding receptions so it has a rather fancy entrance hall. However the room style is a bit dated. It has a certain 80s american style hotel feeling and it looks like the furniture comes from that time too. The rooms are on the small side but very clean. Another minus point is the bad view i had from my window (basically the sidestreet view). Windows are convered by a movable screen, which is convinient to get the light and potential noise out but its also a bit weird at the beginning. However i can recommend this hotel for short stays when doing sightseeing is the main priority of the trip, also the easy accessibility and connection to public transportation is a plus.
