The Neo-Gothic brick-and-stone Salisbury Hotel, opened in 1931, is still owned by the Calvary Baptist Church, which occupies the building’s first five floors. Church operations are entirely separate, although it’s not uncommon to hear snatches of the church choir at practice from the hotel’s lobby.
The location of this New York City hotel is a top advantage: Carnegie Hall is across the street, and many guests enjoy walking from the hotel to Central Park, Fifth Avenue shops, and Radio City Music Hall.
