Decent, Inexpensive Hotel
Tara Towers was a fine place to stay. It is quite a ways outside of the city center, but there is a DART station within about a 5 minute walk of the hotel. There is also a bus station right outside of the hotel, so getting into the city center is not terribly difficult. At times during our trip, though, it would have been nice to have a hotel in-town. The hotel itself is somewhat older. The rooms were clean, but a little shabby. No A/C in the rooms, although I was certain that Expedia confirmed there was A/C (we stayed in June and, at times, A/C would have been appreciated). The staff was really friendly and always willing to help out. The only real problem we had was with noise. Our room was right above the banquet room and, unfortunately, there was a VERY loud party there one night that continued on until close to 2am. It was almost impossible to sleep. This happened a second night during our stay and, when we complained, we were moved into a new room. Breakfast is overpriced-I would definitely encourage you to eat in-town, or grab something to keep in your room. For what we paid, though, it was a good deal.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If youre planning on being in Dublin for a while, buy the Dublin Pass for the tourist attractions. You get lots of discounts at restaurants/stores, PLUS free entry into many of the most popular attractions. Dont miss Kilmainham Gaol.

Would welcome a chance to return
Tara Towers was a very comfortable hotel. Front desk staff very extremely helpful. On the direct bus line from Dublin Airport and on bus line to Dublin with freqent buses. We had 3 in our party, myself my sister and niece who was studying abroad. The room was comfortable and clean. With a party of three, many other hotels were not able to accomodate 3 in one room, but this hotel had rooms with 3 beds.

Great!
Two of my friends and I stayed at this hotel, and we thought it was great. The front desk was very helpful! The rooms were clean, and the beds were pretty comfortable. It was easy to get into the city, and the beach was right across the street. I have no complaints!
