The Hotel formerly known as Holiday Inn Sunspree Bar Harbor ?
I dont know how does Holiday Inn names this hotel, but it seemed like its actual name is Regency Bar Harbor. Great facilities, beautiful harbor view and a good location just a 15-20 min. walk or 5 min. cab ride to downtown Bar Harbor. Plus, you can have a delicious lobster dinner at Stewmans Lobster Pound right at the hotel! (or at their downtown location) Id absolutely recommend this hotel!
We were there in Fall and it was incredibly beautiful.

Beware end of season visitors
I have no idea how many guests were at this hotel two weeks before the end of season, but I am sure that the hotel was by no means full. Even so, expecting better a than average stay and accomodations, we were given a room on the second floor, across from the elevator, next to the vending and ice machine and overlooking the hotel parking lot and front entrance. Although the room appeared clean, the bathroom was dirty. We awakened just past day break to the sound of baggage being loaded and guided tour passengers boarding their bus outside our window. At various times we could hear the hotel staff going in and out of what I assume was a break or supply room directly below us. The hotel restaurant, touted as very good, catered to the group tour passengers and their "tour included" lobster bake while the "regular" guests were seated along the windows of the patio where it was extremely cold. Shortages in any menu items were explained away as "we are out of that, the hotel closes at the end of the month". My opinion is 1) I would NOT stay there again; 2) Albeit a seasonal location, I believe there should be NO difference between the hotel service at the beginning of the season and at the end. If nothing else you should be able to expect consistency in a franchise hotel.
Try to plan your trip on days the cruise ships are not docked. Downtown Bar Harbor is small and just one ship load of people overwhelms the area. It is not uncommon for more than one cruise ship to be docked at a time.
