Convenient, Comfortable, Reasonably Priced

We were quite pleased with our recent stay at this hotel. The only minor downsides included discovering that we did not have a mini-bar in our room (not a big deal, but a convenience we would have enjoyed) and the fact that their concierge service is not available 24/7 (if I remember it correctly, the concierge leaves at 6 pm). I would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

This stay was great. They did everything right. I have realy no complaints at all. Just 2 recomendations using the parking garage next door its half the money and just a close. Also the desert in the restraunt was not very good and expensive. Everything else A+++

Ideal place to stay in Toronto

Best location for easy access to all Toronto attractions; a great feeling of getting your money’s worth in very comfortable surroundings; welcoming and friendly staff, courteous and efficient. We will certainly consider staying there again.

Great property, close to major businesses and a focus on business travelers. Very clean and great service.

Location and Quality!

Great Location -- next to shopping at Eaton Center. A short walk to any of the Mirvish plays. The brunch is very well done. Close to subway, too.

Check out weekend family passes for traveling with TTC (Toronto Transit).

We had a fantastic stay here,a very comfortable room and bed...flat screen tv and large bathroom.A small fridge would have been great but did not take away from the great stay at this hotel.The cost for internet did not bother us as we went on the trip to (Get away from it all)...5 out of 5

The Eaton Mall closes early on Saturday...compared to what I was used to.

Nice Place

We were extremetly pleased with all aspects of this hotel. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed and the location was very handy to the Eaton Centre, subways and the theatre district.

If you aren’t hung up on fancy restaurants, the food court at the Eaton Centre is handy for picking up casual meals.

This was by far one of the best hotels I have been to. Located downtown, in the middle of everything. The city is beautiful and there is so much to do and see. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The hotel is clean and classy. Internet was not free in the room, however wireless is free and fast in the lobby. A+

Stay a few days because there is a lot to see. Staying downtown makes it so convenient. Make sure you exchange your cash because it will make things a lot easier for you.

Excellent standard

I would definitely stay in if in Toronto; the Hotel has excellent amenities & location. I appreciated the professionalism of the Hotel Team; coming from Dubai were the service level is one of the best I did not expect to find the same level of service anywhere else; so I was nicely surprised with Marriott Downtown in Toronto.

Go to the Reservoir Lounge best Jazz Bar in all of Toronto ask the front desk of your hotel

The hotel was really nice and location was right in the middle of everything, I mean you are right next to the Eaton Center their main mall. The only thing I did not like about our room is that the air conditioner did not work to well so it stay above 72 the whole time we were there and shower was either really hot or just warm there was no middle point when you turned the nob.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you go I would recommend getting tickets for Graylines hope on-hop off bus. It is like $30 for three days and you can get on and off at many different location through out the city. It is one of the best transportation devices to use to get around the city. Also there is this awesome jazz bar in Toronto called the Reservoir Lounge a must see for jazz lovers best in all of Toronto. Just ask the front desk about it they will tell you where it is.

Charge for internet access in room.

Loved the hotel and location, but annoyed to have to pay for internet connection in the room. I was on business, and I did not appreciate the internet charges. Lesser hotels have free access. These costs (passed to businesses) drive up prices everywhere. Bad business model; shame on Marriott. I might go to Sheraton or Hilton next time.

Free wireless in the lobby. Taxis are abundant and readily available at the hotel. The food is excellent at the hotel restaurant.

Nice Hotel

Very clean hotel. Close to attractions such as the Rogers center and Roy Thompson Hall. Also. hotel is adjacent to outdoor ice skating rink. Restaurant was nice but expensive,but what isn’t in Toronto? Parking garage offered in and out privileges until 6pm on check out day which was very helpful. Only downfall was the pool. Very small and was closed when we went ,much to the dismay of our 2 young children.Exercise room was very nice.

Good Hotel

The hotel was very clean and up to date. The bed was very comfortable and the restaurant and bar were nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

One of the nicest and friendliest Hotels I’ve ever stayed at.... The Restaurants on the premises were excellent; we ate everything from breakfast to dinner and we were even able to relax by the fireplace and have snacks... so very homey, and the waitstaff went out of their way to accommodate and take care of us. We were in heaven at this Downtown Hotel, right in the middle of shopping heaven and close to all the tourist attractions. We even rented a car one day which was brought right to the hotel, and then we were able to just return the car to the valet at the hotel. I just can’t say enough about how wonderful the whole experience at the Downtown Eaton Center Marriott was!!!!!!

If you have time, rent a car and visit Niagara-On-The-Lake, a picture postcard village that feels like a fairy tale world. And don’t miss the vineyards on the way, well at least a couple!! And try the "Icewine" that you will never forget!!!!

Rather put off by the stained furniture in the lobby - could be very elegant, but gave the inpression of party central for a college group. You are connected to the Eaton Centre Mall, and can go in to the second level through Sears - walk through Sears to the outside to get to the Canon Theatre, and the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre. Room was clean and comforatable - but really needed another chair. Great flatscreen tv - but menu was not turned on, and front desk couldn’t get it to work either. Service staff friendly and helpful, room service excellent, and not overly pricey. Sunday buffet brunch was very good - and one of the reasons we chose this hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Parking - fairly expensive, but you can use your room card for in and out access during your stay. I suggest public trasportation in Toronto -easy to use, and parking in the city is a bear - especially during holidays (we were the weekend if the Twilight premier and the Santa Claus Parade). When getting in a cab, ask if they accept American $ (most do) or credit cards (many do), and you’ll make a friend out your driver!

Nice But Not Perfect

Location was convenient to everything, but immediate area outside hotel is a bit deserted at night. Fast internet (for a fee in the room and for free in the lobby). Lobby was very nice, room was big, bed was very comfortable, room was renovated but signs of needing maintenence with bathroom. Shower was horrible!! Tiles cracking, hardly any water pressure, and hadn’t been cleaned well. Elevators and bathrooms did not appear to be renovated.

The ’entranceway’ is a door in the back of the hotel that goes to courtyard area with a church and then to Eaton Centre, the hotel is not directly attached to the mall.

BEYOND PERFECT!

Myself and 3 family members enjoyed this hotel for 2 days & 2 nights. The room looks exactly like the photo, the staff is welcoming, the rooms clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. You sink into the beds and pillows nicely. The location is right off of Bay and/or Yonge thus its close to everything. We had a 2 double bed hotel and were more than satisfied. The pool area is elegant (sauna is behind a foggy glass for added privacy) and the gym is small yet good. Also, the lobby has a gorgeous fireplace (LARGE) with sofas around it. I will be staying at this hotel again and I hope anyone reading this decides to book here too. The only thing better would have been FREE breakfast. The bad note is that on the 1st night the elevator to the parking lott was broken so everyone had to walk up a MINUMUM of 5 floors up to get to the lobby floor. AND, on the 2nd night we came in at 9pm and the staff told us the parking lott was 100% full and we had to go to a nearby parking lott. Unconvient, but at least they paid the full expense. Despite that, I rate this hotel 95% because everyone likes free breakfast. Instead we ate elsewhere.

When driving to this hotel try to locate the Eaton Centre "Square" or go down Bay street to find it. Also, to save money on breakfast go to Eggsspecatular a litte bit past the eaton centre to have a delicious breakfast. Breakfast in gengeral, anywhere, should cost under 8.00. The hotel I believe is 15.00.
