Clean, Comfortable Rooms

We stayed here for 3 days in late October of this year, and the location and comfort of the hotel were fine. It’s just a short walk away from the Ku’damm and KaDeWe; however, the lobby and surrounding area was unbearably hot and we had to complain several times to management to get them to turn down the heat. The computer room also had some problems--internet connectivity was expensive and often didn’t work properly, and when it did, it was SLOW. Nonetheless, it was an overall GOOD experience, and I’d recommend this hotel as a value-priced place to stay while in Berlin.

Great location, good price

Cant beat location near Kurfurstendamm. First room given was tiny and directly across restaurant: noise. Upgraded to high floor and view was much better; also bigger. Wireless internet somewhat spotty.

Outstanding Hotel, Great Staff

A great deal

The hotel looked great and it was very clean. The front desk staff was helpful, though we didn’t ask that much of them. I thought it was well-priced for what we got. I would definitely stay there again.

Good stay at convenient location

This hotel is in a convenient location, near 2 U-bahn stations, as well as the Zoo Garden, S- bahn station that was about an 8 minutes walk away. We had a good stay at this hotel and got a good rate from Expedia.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

You are in the thick of the Ku dam area that is a minute or 2 away. Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Buy a day pass that covers the U, S Bahn and buses and have an adventure. Bus rides from the Zoo station on # 100 and 200 replicate the tour bus route. Just buy a guide book and do it yourself. More fun that way and cheaper and flexible too.

we stay only 2 nights, but were surprise of friendliness of people in front deck, there readiness to help you in any possible way, including print out of train schedules. also was pleasant surprise of complimentary fruits in a lobby.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Our suggestion is-choose only place to eat, where people can speak your language-in case you don’t speak theirs. It really can help you to get what you what without any bad surprises. Close to the hotel there is an excursion bus-hop in-hop on. Take it and enjoy your tour around the city. Really great.

Terrible service

Hotel room was somewhat clean, however, the lower part of the shower doors on the inside were covered by black mold. We paid 15 Euros per person for breakfast and it was a disaster. There were no plates or cups. The staff was so overwhelmed that would not even get to clean the tables. We had to wait 25 minutes at the bar for the cups. After two trips to the reception desk and another 15 minutes later we were served some coffee (still no plates). I guess someone forgot to put on a second batch of coffee. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. After several arguments with the reception desk personnel we were able to get one refund on one breakfast.

Small italian resturant few doors down from the hotel was great and reasonably priced.

Good Choice

The front desk staff was absolutely useless. Other then that it was a great hotel. Large clean room in a nice neighborhood. Walking distance to Zoo and train station. We had a car and found it easy to park on the street. Felt safe. Good value. We enjoyed having evening drinks at the bar. The front desk workers were NOT helpful at all and could barely locate their OWN hotel on a map. Other than that....great place.!!

Skip the Hard Rock Cafe down the street with overpriced crappy food. A few doors down is a mom n’ pop place with tasty chicken wings, fries and bier :)

Good Place to stay in Berlin

decent rooms in a nice hotel in a a nice lively part of Berlin. Next to Hard Rock Cafe.

Goog location and Quality

The hotel is locates near the subway and it’s in an area with lots of stores and restaurants. the area is very safe and nice for walks.

I would definitely stay at the Berlin Mark again, the staff was helpful and nice, rooms were clean, the buffet breakfast was a bonus. It was in a good area also close to several great resturants.

Bring a small Travel Iron unless you want to walk across the street to an affliate hotel to use one.

We’d visit again

The hotel has a really efficient location; it was close to transportation, shopping sites, restaurants, but still quiet and peaceful. The reception desk was helpful with giving directions. Hopefully, on our next visit, the hotel will provide shampoo in the bathroom. Overall, it was a good experience.

NIce and clean, excellent location

Liked the hotel very much. It was reasonably priced and within close access to the S and U bahn thus easy access throughout the whole city. Lots of nearby restuarants and shopping stores, some architecture and street dancing, I enjoyed it much. Service was lovely, room was good and clean. No complaints.

great location near everything zoo, the church and other great locations.

use the S-Bahn (train) or the U-Bahn (under ground metro) it will bring you every where and the good thing is you dont have to pay if you dont want to.

A great choice!!!

Great hotel for the price - completely impressed. Short walk to train station, restaurants, shopping - all of Berlin. Air conditioned - which is pretty rare in Germany. Breakfast is top notch - the best I’ve had in Germany. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Berlin Mark was excellent. It was in a great location, the hotel staff was extremely helpful, and the rooms were pretty spacious for a European hotel. I will definitely stay at the Berlin Mark the next time I am in the city.

Excellent Hotel - very satisfied

The hotel is very conveniently located in Berlin. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The rate is very reasonable, the room and bathroom is very clean. The buffet breakfast is amazing (do get down there before 9, since the dining room will be packed after that time). Very close to the S-Bahn and U-Bahn station.

PS: Guests, do bring your own bar of soap and shampoo since they only provide a liquid soap. There are a few stores such as DR (inside Europa Center)and Kaiser along Kuu’dam.

hotel with smoking rooms

hotel is quiet, room was small but kept stocked with fresh towels. It had no coffee maker, iron or ironing board & no ice machine, had to get it from the bar, 1 beer mug @ a time. Garage is right next door & fee was fair. I would probably go back.

Nice hotel, nice location, would return again

Convenient location, clean rooms, nice service, and great complimentary breakfast..I strongly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel - very satisfied

We were pleased with the general condition of the hotel. It was clean and very centrally located. On returning home, I thought I had left something in my room and sent them an e-mail, and although it was not found they were very helpful in their reply. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you go to Berlin then you must try the Berlin walking tour that starts near the zoo.Had a tour with Mike from New Zealand that was the perfect blend of information and entertainment.

Very friendly and helpful staff

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Mark Berlin Hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was tasty despite the crowded room, the sleeping rooms were comfortable and clean; we returned to stay an additional two days the end of the week.

A public transportation pass good for 24 hour and up to five persons can be purchased for 15 to 16 Euros that takes you all over Berlin.

Location of hotel is fantastic. Rooms are large clean and well appointed. Staff at the hotel were polite and helpful. We would definitely stay again when returning to Berlin.

Hop on Hop off bus leaves from end of street, Underground station is there too.

A Great Place to stay in Berlin

We loved everything about this hotel. Free wireless internet access in our room! Underground tickets and stamps for sale at the lobby desk. Great breakfasts. "Lunch Box" provided on departure day because we left too early for breakfast. Walking distance to almost everything. Personnel friendly, helpful, courteous. Can’t wait to stay there again
