You will love it!

This is a lovely hotel which is very convenient to the metro, shopping, restaurants, etc. The metro is 1/2 block away. The room was very attractive, immaculate and comfortable. The bathroom had 2 sinks..separate from the toilet area, granite countertops, thirsty towels and great shower pressure! The top floor lounge and bar was great. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely waitress to bring you wine, coffee or whatever you would like to drink. It was a very nice area to "hang out" and read a book. The breakfast was also lovely. Great food in a very pretty room. This is a hotel I think everyone would enjoy.

superb!

Madrid is a very livable city and Atlantico is in the middle of everything. The hotel, staff and accomodations were first rate. I felt the US has a lesson to learn about public transportation and Madrid/Spain would be a good place to start. Look forward to returning.

travel here in the fall. from the city center, WALK, WALK, WALK in any direction, get lost, ask people for advice, directions etc language is not important. There are 10,000 small streets and alleys to explore. Try the metro, the buses and the high-speed trains. I hope you have enough time to do it justice! ENJOY!

Great Location

We were only in Madrid for two days and this hotel was in the perfect location for us. The on/off bus was a few steps away, as well as the ATM and shops and restaurants. We could easily walk to the Plaza del Sol and the Plaza Mayor, where we had a perfectly lovely coffee and pastry in the morning sun. The front desk men were extremely helpful and pleasant. A cocktail and some small snacks at the roof bar made a very nice way to end the evening with beautiful views and a waiter who made us feel right at home. Highly recommend.

Very clean comfortable rooms

After seeing all the reviews on this hotel (trip advisor), I can completely agree that the hotel has very clean and comfortable rooms. Maids cleaned the rooms spotless every day. The location is great and the rooftop bar was very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice upgrade

Great location, walking distance to San Ana & Plaza mayor, close to metro, with with museums a short ride away. Many major shops(and Starbucks) a stone’s throw away. The room facing the street was adequate but the upgrade away from the street was beautiful, quiet and very confortable.

Good Value in a noisy neighborhood

Hotel Atlantico is on the Gran Via - which while convenient in terms of location, is a noisy street all through the night. Our room faced the street, four flights up. We heard sirens every night until the wee hours. If you are accustomed to city noise, this might be alright. Interior rooms are dark, and it seems that the building itself is not insulated for sound. We were awakened by people on both sides of us coming in at night. That said, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are pretty, the staff cheerful and helpful, and the breakfast good. The ninth floor balcony is a pleasant place to watch the sunset and enjoy a drink.

Nice hotel

We requested a quiet room when booking but were given a room in the front of the building on a very busy street. It had privacy shutters on the outside but even they did not eliminate the noise. The room was small but the bath was great, a real shower with a full length shower curtain. Unheard of in Europe. The location was excellent, quick walk to the old town and a nice section to walk around. It was a nice walk to the museums. I would recommend this hotel along as noise and small room does not bother you. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location/staff/mattress/shower--what more could you want?

The location can’t be beat. The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas are lovely and include a computer on the 9th floor so guests can check their e-mails (and if you explore around the corner from the computer room, you’ll discover a cozy terrace, which is a perfect spot for an evening drink). While my economy room was fairly small, it was on an inner courtyard, so extremely quiet, and had perhaps the most comfortable mattress and pillow I’ve ever encountered in any hotel, and a great shower with lots of water pressure as an added bonus. I most definitely would stay there again.

Check out the new mercado just outside the Plaza Mayor. Good eats and drinks, a mixed crowd of locals and tourists (including lots of Americans), and great people-watching.

Small but impressed by quality and service!

Atlantico offers shuttle from airport as well as managerial attention to all details of your stay. Great location. Small room, but all amenities provided as well as available buffet breakfast. Staff is very attentive and readily available for suggestions. Would highly recommend for your stay in Madrid!

Plenty to see and do in Madrid, but don’t miss Barcelona. (Nice trip from Madrid to Barcelona by high speed Renfe train!)

Great location- would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located on a very busy main street. However although my room was only on a third floor it faced the back of the building so it was very quiet- I experienced no street noice whatsoever. My room was a single so it was small but very clean and comfortable. Near great shopping, great restaurants and easy access to any tourist attractions.

Safe Quiet Hotel in a Fun Central Location

I am a woman and was travelling alone on business in Madrid. I loved the hotel. It was in a great fun location right on the Grand Via, close to everything and full of outside activity - especially at night. The Atlantico felt quiet and safe inside, however, which was very important to me. The staff spoke English fairly well and were extremely helpful in giving directions and suggesting restaurants. Madrid was really beautiful. I just wish that I had more time to see it.

superior in all respects

I visit 3-4 countries every year, usually stay in 3-4 star hotels and this one was the best in quite awhile. We had a balcony room overlooking the Gran Via form the 7th floor--what a sight! The AC worked quite well, which can be unusual in europe, the staff was great and the location perfect. Highly recomended

Location, location, location!

The location of this fine hotel could not be better! Right in the middle of Madrid’s equivalent of Time’s Square and within easy walking distance of Madrid’s major tourist sites. The breakfast buffet was a perfect way to start the day and the staff was all very pleasant and helpful.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Prado Museum has free visiting hours from 6 to 8 each evening and is an excellent way to see this great museum several times and revisit your favorites!

Beautiful room, beautiful city!!!!

The room we stayed in appeared to be recently renovated. Spotless and roomy, very pretty. It had a balcony that overlooked the Gran Via. Madrid is very lively so if street noise bothers you ask for a room not facing the street (however you will be missing out on some of the fun). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved this hotel.

A great location in central Madrid

The BWHA is centrally located on Gran Vía, at the heart of Madrid’s historic district, just a few steps from the Callao metro station. We were very pleased with their facilities and many small details that make your stay so much more confortable. The staff was very friendly. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, specially compared to previous trips, in which we had stayed at some very cramped "hostales". They lack room service, but it’s really a minor issue since the surrounding area is stuffed with places to eat and drink.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Zahara restaurant, just across the street, is a great place for food and beer!

Don’t be fooled by the Best Western Label

This is the best value in Madrid. The rooms are 5 star, large and newly redecorated. You are right in the heart of all of the great places Madrid has to offer. Don’t even think of staying anywhere else.

Enjoyed the lobby floor

Although our room was typically European (small), the bathroom was large. I took advantage of the 9th floor lobby, with ample sitting room, coffee/bar service, all done beautifully.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

From this hotel, you can walk to all the major sights and museums, and two different metro stops are each about a block away. The shopping streets nearby have canopies over them during the heat of the day, keeping the streets lively and the stores open.

Excellent hotel

My return to Madrid after 22 years was great. The hotel was excellent, great location with walking to Plaza Mayor, Plaza de sol, Plaza Espana, The Prado, and it goes on. The hotel was clean, service was excellent and the hotel staff were courteous and professional. We will return and stay at this hotel.

Traveler's tip on dining

Bodega Botin is still the best restaurant in town, located in Plaza Mayor on Calle de cuchillero. Reservations are recommended.
