It is what it is... Good- or OK+
Very neat, modern room. Clean. Location is convient to airport - thats about it (besides one bar, a mini-mart/gas station, & a McDonalds. I guess you dont need much else in life). we stayed 1 night because it was close to the Airport and we got in on a "late" flight and wanted to go into New Orleans in the morning. Complaints: The remote for the flat-screen didnt seem completely functional. We often use a hotels pool/spa area as the kicker to see if well stay. The pictures looked good, the pool was OK - but the jets for the hot tub did not work, looked like they hadnt worked for some time (elec. pipes in the bushes covered with old duct tape,) and frankly, probably wont be working until some time in the future since, when I first asked at the desk, they didnt seem very concerned when I told them I couldnt find how to turn them on. Instead they said (without much concern) the jets "arent working..." Whats the point of having a hot-tub if the jets arent working, and theres bugs floating on the surface?
Traveler's tip on local attractions
For us, this was just a handy stop-over for a night before heading into the city for a longer stay. Unless you have a car, theres not much in the immediate vicinity (except what I mentioned above). Oh the prominent advertised daiquiris in the bar next door are pretty watered down...

Dont be put off by the weird decor in the lobby
Had a moment of trepidation when I first saw the lobby. Very stark and ultra modern and just plain weird in a pretty sort of way. Cant say enough about the staff. They bent over backwards to meet our needs and always very graciously. The room was very nice and the bed and pillows were wonderful. The hotel van also met us at the car return and when the driver heard we were going to take a taxi to the nearby casino, offered to drive us and pick us up later. The restaurant manager and the front desk clerk were terrific as well. Definitely would stay there again when flying into or out of New Orleans. It is only 5 minutes from the airport.
