St. Germain area hotel provided quality stay
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Le Jardin de Cluny. It is a totally non-smoking and bio hotel. Our room was spacious and clean as was the modern bath. The location is excellent for walking to cafes, shops, the Metro, the Seine, and attractions. The staff was very friendly and Andre was very helpful. Breakfast is served in a wine cellar type cave two levels below the street - very unique! We thought it was a good value especially for Paris and would definitely stay there again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Two restaurants we enjoyed for dinner were Mediterranee for excellent seafood and service and DChez Eux which serves excellent traditional French country cuisine but is a bit pricey. Try the escargot, duck pate, and cassoulet! Visit Save the Queen - an inventive womens boutique on St. Germain. Loved the clothes.

Very good hotel
The hotel was very good and the staff very helpful. The airconditioner was not working when I stayed and had to keep the windows open...yet these were toward the courtyard which made the room noisy; could hear peoples conversations and other noises. Good but expensive breakfast: opportunity for mimosas if you want.

Nice hotel but a little pricey
I know Paris is obviously expensive, so I didnt have high expectations. Overall, our stay here was pleasant, but also pricey, especially considering it was the off-season. Nothing exceptionally great about the hotel but nothing bad either. Good location though. Its hard for me to know how they compared to lesser-priced hotels in good locations in Paris, but still didnt seem like a great value compared to everywhere else Ive stayed.
Traveler's tip on dining
Just down the street from the hotel near the Maubert are two restaurants, the Metro and Village Ronsard. We went to the Metro the first night, and it was mediocre, especially compared to Ronsard the next night. Atmosphere at the Metro was drab, and the menu selection was very limited as well. Ronsard on the other hand was about the same price, but much more pleasant atmosphere, nice waiter (shock in Paris), and great food. I had a steak and my wife had the salmon, and both were excellent.
