Friendly, comfortable respite
On this 3-night visit, front desk staff sometimes seemed pre-occupied, but cleaning & maintenance staff consistently greeted me cheerfully. [I like that, makes me feel at home. Indicates to me that management values their staff.] The hotel is beautifully maintained, beds are comfy, theres always hot water for a shower [we were on the 6th floor and waited maybe 10 seconds, tops], and despite the nearby interchange and railroad, its a quiet property. Didnt make use of the restaurant--ate all our meals in Philly with the friend we were visiting.
Traveler's tip
Hotel is adjacent to the junction of I-78 and State Route 309, in Montgomery County. If youre visiting northwest Philadelphia (Chestnut Hill, Mount Airy), Route 309 improvements implemented over the past couple of years now eliminate the need to use Bethlehem Pike as the main access road. So travelers now have a choice between expediency (309) and a scenic route (Beth Pike).

Visiting Acardia College
Although getting to this hotel was an bit of a challenge, the hotel front desk staff worked as a control tower to guide me into the hotel. Once I got there the room was clean and neat, the bathroom was mold free and the shower was hot. As a place to spend a few nights while visiting the colleges in the area I would highly recommend this hotel.
If you are visiting Arcadia college this Hotel is so very close and easy to get to.

Expected Better
While overall the hotel and room were clean, for the price of the room I expected the bathroom ventilator to work, a bathmat to step on and an iron that didnt spill water on my clothes because the cap on the reservoir was broken off. I gave up on breakfast in the dining area after waiting 12 minutes to make eye contact with the waitress and get coffee. Current construction outside the hotel makes it very difficult and dangerous to try to take a left (local) turn out of the driveway. This looks like a big project and may take a while to complete. If you are taking a right to get back on to the PA Turnpike, its easier.
Traveler's tip on dining
Toners Beef & Ale Tavern, down the street on E. Pennsylvania Ave, has a great pub atmosphere and good sized sandwiches. They also have crab specials. Friendlys is also on this street for a quick, reasonably priced breakfast.
