Wonderful St. Thomas

My wife and I went to St. Thomas to get married. THe island and the hotel was wonderful. We took the European plan which is pay as you go. They have 2 restaurants, Lobster Grille and Iggies. The food was average nothing special. They have plenty of water toys to play with in the bay. They also have a catamaran for sailing activites. The captain and crew were a wonderful treat. With the stress of the wedding, Bolongo Bay was a great place to call home and rest between events. The bed was lumpy and it’s probably time to replace. For a really special meal I recommend Havana Blue in Morning Star. It is just down the road from Bolongo bay.

DO NOT let the car rental company, Budget, con you into upgrading to a soft top jeep. It is really hot and you will need a place to lock up your belongings which you will not be able to do in a soft top jeep.

Paradise

The view is beautiful. We had a great time! It is family-owned and every one that works there seems to love their job. Ask for Vernita, she will help with everything. She’s great. When you arrive, they have your names on a big bulletin board welcoming you there and they give you a glass of Rum punch. You will love the rum punch. Harry the bartender makes the best Banana daiquiri’s and Bushwackers! If you love the beach, swimming and snorkeling, then this is the place for you! We will most definitely go back.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Taxi’s are expensive.Rent a car if you can.Try to get to a grocery store/Kmart when you are there to pick up some food and bottled water because the snacks at the resort are very expensive.Kmart is the place to get liquor.Cruzan rum is the best and costs 5.99 to 8.99 a bottle. You can take back 6 bottles a person.Sunscreen is a must & Deepwoods Off.You’ll need it for the sand fleas. You can’t see them, but they’ll bite. Being in paradise cancels out the stupid bug bites. You’ll have a great time.
