will not check in again
this is my fourth trip to paris in two years. chose this hotel to try a new paris neighborhood. payed for an upgraded room, here is what i received. bathtub only, no shower curtain. two twin beds shoved together to make a king, okay, but the dip between the two was so deep both my husband and i were sliding into the middle throughout the night. paint was chipped and wallpaper peeling. for a smaller hotel surprised there was no recognition coming and going, no suggestions for restaurants, no helpful directions to metro or even a map. i travel quite a bit and know what to expect from european hotels...this was shabby.
Friday or Sunday morning are a great days to go to Versailles by train. there is a great market in the center of town to pick up picnic provisions and then a lovely walk over to the grounds of Versailles. During the late spring- summer-early fall, you can rent bikes or rowboats. a must do to get out of the hustle of the city
