nice place to stay!
I recently spent 2 nights at the Marianis Inn. My room was nice, comfortable and I would stay there again. I was in Santa Clara for a family event and several of the family stayed there. I heard no complaints and everyone was happy with the accommodations. Also, the restaurant was a little pricey ($14.95 up), but the food was superb, for Italian fare.

Excellent Value - Great Breakfast
We come every year for the International swim meet and always stay at Marianis. It is a somewhat older property but very well maintained. The central location is unsurpassed and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but the big plus feature is the free full hot breakfast. This is no continental, every morning there are eggs, several meats, waffles, fried potatoes, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, toast, juices, coffee, and other beverages. Did I mention it was an all-you-can-eat buffet? The breakfast is easily worth $15 each, for the two of us this effectively cut the price of the room by about 30-40%. A great value, highly recommended.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dont miss the breakfast. If you have troubles with the wi-fi, there is an ethernet port in each room also (ask at the front desk if you need a cable). A wired connection is faster anyway.

Pass
I requested a single bed with a kitchen. I got a two bed room with a refrigerator and a coffee maker. I was put in the back section under a room with children who ran around in their room every evening. There was a complimentary breakfast buffet; however, the desk clerk only gave me one coupon with my room number on it. So the other two mornings I had to get a coupon from the front desk.
