Trendy Hotel, but a bit frayed at the edges
Great location - lots of bars, restaurants, stores, cafes around. Bedford park is half a block down the street and can be a refuge from the busy Tottenam Court Rd in the opposite direction. The adjacent tapas bar is open late, but just a few blocks away around Goodge St - there are many restaurants including at least one 2-star Michelin one. The single room I had was slightly larger than the usual in London, but you can tell that its getting a touch worn. I think I read somewhere that the hotel was being refreshened, which should help it fullfil its potential. Overall a good London deal!

I did go back
Generally a wonderful stay. I spent a total of 5 nights here over the course of 2 and a half weeks. The morning breakfast (the continental option) is expensive but marvelous. If you dont want to spend the money go to Cafe Nero or Starbucks, both a few blocks away. The "library" in the basement has 4 computers and 2 printers with internet connections; it took me ages to get an adapter for my laptop (there is also wifi) so this was a lifesaver.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Astoundingly close to the British Museum. On a quiet side street with a little park that makes it feel quite removed from the bustle of Oxford street which is actually very close by. Good local food options, too.

Adequate for the price
The hotel was in a great location for some of the local attractions - close to the British Museum and an easy walk to Soho and the some West End theaters. Also the tube stations were need by for attractions further away. The room was a bit small, but since I was staying in a single, it was what I expected for a hotel in London. The room was always kept clean and it was really quiet.
