Another visit

If I ever visit Maui again, whis is quite probable, I will probably select Napili shores as our destination lodging. There isn’t anything less than 99% about the place.

North west end of maui is the best.

We enjoyed our stay ,the staff and atmosphere were very pleasent. When we go back to Maui napilli shores is the place we are going to stay.

Great Service

The staff were nice. The hotel was quiet, clean and great. The only thing is that the ocean next to the hotel, napali beach, was good for neither snorkeling nor swimming. The market near the hotel was really expensive. Otherwise, the hotel was great.

Great staff, nice room, good location

If this resort had air conditioned rooms, it would be 4 star lodgings. As we had the Trade Winds every day we there in mid-October, that did not matter. And the beach was just great.

Love watching the turtles every morning

The room was great, every morning we would drink our coffee and watch the turtles. Only wish there was airconditioning. We happened to be in Maui the week the trade winds deceided to stop blowing and the temps were in the 90’s. It was uncomfortable to sleep at night. But overall the room was wonderful, the hotel, condos were great. The on site restraunt is overpriced, and did not have their liquor license. Food was good, our server was odd person who kept showing the other pratons our order, very strange.

Wonderful, can’t wait to go back. great location, Napili Bay is wonderful, other great beaches close by. Outrigger’s pools are sparkling clean, beautiful landscaping, clean comfortable studios, friendly staff.........

We decided to stay at this hotel because we wanted to avoid the big buildings, looking for a more intimate location (besides its high ratings from other Expedia fellows). Bingo! The Napili Shores was incredibly well taken care of, right on Napili Bay beach (we watched the sunset every day) and a few minutes away from Lahaina, where all the stores and restaurants are. We got upgraded to a partial ocean view room and I can’t remember staying in a room so clean before! Having a full kitchen was definitely helpful and seating on the balcony while enjoying a nice meal with a view was a treat. The pools are open until late as well as the jacuzzi. The front desk was very nice and helpful all the time. The local Expedia Expert also helped us booking a few adventures. Don’t miss the bike ride down from the top of Haleakala. It’s too much fun! Road to Hana is another must do, stopping at the black sand beach. What a place! Just can’t wait to go back...

Snorkel Bob’s offers a nice daily or weekly rental deal for an umbrella, chairs and a cooler. Kapalua Bay was the best snorkel we did, although my husband swam with a turtle at Napili Bay! The Gazebo is definitely a must for your breakfast. CJ’s Deli and Dinner has great inexpensive food and a nice lunch box for when you ride to Hana. Kimo’s at Lahaina was a nice dinner with a view. Maui Brewery at Kahana is another good option.

Paradise; can’t wait to go back!

What can I say? Do you want to watch sea turtles and spinner dolphins from the comfort of your room? Pop down just a few feet to a beautiful sandy beach and snorkel about with said turtles and all those gorgeous fish? What’s not to like? Clean, convenient and the view and island experience just can’t be beat! And, since it’s a condo, there are all the amenities of home: a fully equipped kitchen and a great lanai/balcony with room to eat outside and experience all Maui has to offer!I love this place!

Last time I was here I missed the very local amenities: a local store with the necessities and even gifts to send home, great restaurants (including those on the premises), a nearby hiking trail so you can check out the adjacent bays (Napili is still the best), and dancing very nearby if you choose to seek it out.

We could return to this condo

This was our first stay in a condo. We were very happy with the comfort of our room. The kitchen was well stocked of dishes, utensils and pans. Everything was very, very clean. The grounds were beautiful. We loved how we could walk to the beach becuase it was very close. It wasn’t very crowded and the sunsets were awesome. We would certainly return.

Very good experience at Napili Shores

We had a very pleasant stay at this facility. The room facilities were great and surroundings were very beautiful. The room had free internet, very good TV, DVD player and kitchen facilities were also great. Parking was free which was also great. I would surely recommend this place to my friends and we will definitely go back.

Gazebo restaurant at Napili shores is great for food but you will need to be patient to find a table. Dont miss Halekala and Hana drive. Lastly, dont leave Maui without having a swim at Big Beach at Makena.

Wonderful!

Napili Shores is a wonderful hotel on Napili Bay. It is quiet and family oriented. The gazebo restaurant is famous for breakfast and lunch on the ocean front. I’ve stayed there many times and will return many times more.

Great location

My boyfriend and I were more than satisfied with our stay. The property was well maintained. A short walk across some rocks and we were at a beautiful beach with beautiful water and snorkling. We saw turtles and all kinds of fish. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed to feel at home.

We really enjoyed our stay , the room was very comfortable and the surroundings were well maintained , very layed back , in which made our stay much more pleasent , loved it , cannot wait to stay again .

Eating out was a little spendy , costco is close if you want to ocasionally cook on the bbq;s they have , very clean .

Worth the money

In an expensive holiday destination like Maui, we didn’t expect a whole lot for what we paid for at this hotel, but we were quite mistaken. While it isn’t where you’d want to spend your honeymoon, for a normal holiday, however, it’s great. The room we got was very spacious with high ceilings, kitchen facilities, a small balcony, and a fairly large bathroom. We liked that the hotel also provided towels for use at the beach which could be exchanged for fresh ones anytime, that there was a laundramat (coin-operated) for guests accessible 24x7 which we found cheaper than elsewhere in Maui, that there was free internet access, that there was an outdoor jacuzzi to relax in in the evenings after a day of water sports, and also that most wonderful oceanfront restaurant, The Gazebo, for really awesome pancakes with pineapple, banana & macadamias. It can get a little noisy and is really best for small families with kids. The hotel is right next to a popular family beach.

Buy a cheap set of snorkel gear to take along rather than renting as it can add up. Maui has wonderful places to snorkel. Look out for free maps on best snorkelling spots.

Nice place for family vacation

We liked the place. There is a nice beach next to it and it is a quiet part of the island. Hotels and all buildings in this area are one or two floors and we liked that. If you prefer huge hotels there are other places. Kitchen has basically everything you need for that short time. Bathroom is nice and clean (except that you will bring sand from beach every day). Internet worked well. It is more likely that you will have some showers here than in Lahaina but they say ’no rain, no rainbow’.

It is a good idea to visit some other beaches or do other sctivies. And there are many choices - snorkeling, surfing, Haleakala park, road to Hana, Luau ...

Almost Perfect

This was our first trip to Hawaii. The Napili Shores was recommended by a friend and we found the facility great. We stayed in an ocean view studio on the 2nd floor and our unit was great. Very clean and comfortable. The grounds were exceptionally well kept and the front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The beach was just a short walk (5 minutes) to the right and 5 minutes to the left was a cove full of sea turtles that may for great snorkeling. The only issue at this resort was the Gazebo resturant was right at the ocean side pool and people waiting in line (at least 20 -30 each day we were there) take over the pool deck. Management gives no consideration to the people staying at the resort. The solution is so simple....have the people line up going up th 3 stairs to the central court yard instead of all over the pool deck. With the expense of going to Hawaii and all the options available this one issue for us is enough to find another place to stay next time. Too bad the place is great and this issue is so simple to fix if anyone in management cared to......

Pacific Whale Watch was exceptional and we highly recommend them. If pays to become a member if you plan more than 1 whale watch. Mendes Ranch for horse back riding was also exceptional. Great staff, good horses, and excellent trails and scenery.

Exceeded my expectations!

Great relaxed and casual atmosphere, overall quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I will always have fond memories of Napali Shores Resort and would definately return again. Our condo was perfect with a great view of the ocean from our second-story lanai.

Maui Brewing Company, located a few miles south of Napali Shores had really good food, resonably priced, and a great Mango Hefiwisen beer. The macadamia pancakes at the Gazebo are a must. Finally, the nearby Sea House restaurant has excellent seafood with an ocean view.

Better than Expected

After reading a lot of reviews, I didn’t have too high of expectations for this hotel, but we were impressed. Free Parking was nice, No AC wasn’t a problem because the weather is amazing, we felt like it was in a safe neighborhood, and it really is next to a nice beach! There were a lot of families staying here so there was some noise, but we didn’t mind. There weren’t any good restaurants (except the Gazebo which is only open for breakfast & lunch) past Lahaina, so it was a fifteen minute drive whenever we went out to eat.

Excellent Choice

Outrigger Napili Shores was a wonderful place to stay. The grounds and facilities were immaculate and beautiful. The condo kitchen was furnished with everything we needed to cook complete meals and there were gas grills on the property as well. There was no air conditioning but we did not miss it because of the ceiling fans and screened windows. Our only complaint was that the mattress was too soft, which is a personal preference.

Cooking your own meals is a great way to save money on vacation as well as provide generally healthier food than restaurant food. Grocery prices were noticeably better at Safeway than at Foodland or Napili Market.

Great Honeymoon

Stayed here 12 nights in September for honeymoon. Great location, nice rooms. We stayed in an ocean front studio. Room was big, kitchen was perfect, and the view was great. Hotel was close to beach and both restaurants on site were excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Some good, some bad

realized when we got into room that there was no A/C, only a fan over the bed and one in the bathroom. Luckily it wasn’t that hot. Only other concern was the bed, for the studio we stayed in had one of those beds that you can lift up into the wall to make space, so it felt more like a roll a way bed rather than a real one, got uncomfortable at times. Other than that, I really liked it there. It was really clean, had great little kitchen with all the utensils and dishes, and it’s so nice outside. There are a bunch of sea turtles that hang out by the rocks that are fun to watch and even swim with. Excellent place to stay with a family, you can buy groceries down the street and have a nice outdoor bbq, good people around, I liked it. If you don’t mind the bed or no a/c that much, this is a great place to stay

Happy as two Clams

While not luxurious, the Outrigger at Napili Shores was clean, comfortable, and well appointed with everything you will need to keep within a budget. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were new and clean. For greater privacy I recommend a unit closer to the shore...but the nearer to Labor Day, the fewer the rough-housing children. Over-all no noise after around 8:30pm....and a most beautiful, well maintained grounds and view of the ocean.

Take the tour guide’s tips on places to eat on a budget. They eat in these establishments all the time and if they say the food is good....you can trust those opinions.

The staff was great and helpful. Our room was very nice, good size kitchen space. Nice balcony. Restaurants and bar were good.

Go to the grocery store and stock up on snacks and drinks and keep them in the condo’s kitchen.

Perfect for families, full kitchen, comfy and clean. Loved the scent of plumeria in the garden. Good location, walking distance to Napili Beach.
