For a short, inexpensive stay
The hotel was in definite need of some updating. The room was small and the bed not very comfortable. The hotel is also located right near the Amtrak line so you can hear the train loud and clear all times of the day and night. This hotel is fine for a economical weekend stay.

Excellent Service
We had several extra conditions that needed to be met (Needed first floor room and no smoking accomodations). All conditions were met and within 1/2 hour of checking in, the office called to make sure all was satisfactory. There were many truck drivers and workers that left early in the morning and the trains were a bit noisy, but the hotel met all the criteria for a good night’s sleep. They even remembered my name the next morning.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
-Visit Cypress Gardens in Summerville. It’s all the best of SC. -Folly’s Beach for swimming. Rent an umbrella & carry a good book. -Walk along the water’s edge at Battery Park in Charleston. Great walking park at the cruise ship. Enjoy a covered swing, fountains or walk along the shore. -Georgetown is also a great restful little town with great cruises and a wonderful park at the end of town. Walk down to the beach.

Not bad for a quick trip
Overall the hotel was good for a single night stay. I would not be comfortable staying there with children for more than one night. The staff was nice and the room was clean, but not spotless.
