Talkative Innkeeper
A comfortable, convenient place to stay for area events such as Tanglewood and Shakespeare & Co., though downtown Pittsfield, which is within walking distance and which is why I stayed there, is mostly empty stores these days, with not a restaurant other than Dunkin Donuts that I could fine. The bigger issue is the overly friendly and helpful innkeeper: when I checked in, I stood with my bags for 15 minutes while she gabbed to another set of guests about a a play she saw the night before; then at breakfast she sat at one of the tables in her apron and held forth. I brought a book as I had read another guest comment about this, but ate and fled. If you want to be left alone, go elsewhere.
